Hello!

I wasn’t totally sure where to post this but I don’t see the hurt over here I suppose. So me and my fiance are both catholic but he hasn’t had any of his other sacraments other then baptism. I’m just wondering how long it might take to get married if we have to wait at all??

Catholics should be fully initiated–baptism, confirmation and first communion (preceded by sacramental confession) before marriage. Best thing is to visit your parish priest, or his delegate for marriage preparatin, together as soon as possible to find out all aspects of what is required. In this diocese confirmation preparation for adults is supposed to be one year, and the bishop confirms once a year, at Pentecost.

Go see your Priest

(of course it is very good that you are getting married in the Church…it is great you are not tempted to attempt marriage outside the Church for this would be invalid (not true before God…for a Catholic needs to be married in the Church or with permission to do otherwise…for Marriage is a very important thing…it is a Sacrament…but I suppose you know that! for you are here!)

The Bishop can confirm anytime…and his priests can be deligated to as well…besides there is this canon in canon law…so worry not!

Can. 1065 §1. Catholics who have not yet received the sacrament of confirmation are to receive it before they are admitted to marriage if it can be done without grave inconvenience.

it is will be good for him to learn about the Sacraments and get to receive them! To goto confession…to receive confirmation…and in the Holy Eucharst -receive Christ!

Being a Christian…following Christ in a Christian Marriage is a great vocation! a joy!
