So you have to go all the way to the year 444 A.D. to quote people? Let’s just stick to the years 6 B.C. to about 33 A.D. Maybe even another 30 years afterward. From 2nd Century and beyond the people who wrote stuff couldn’t ask the origional witnesses if it was true or not.
Unfortunately, heresy did not stop with the death of the Apostles.
You’re right. You use every other word that means “worship” to describe your relationship to Mary. But you don’t use the word “worship”!

“god” -noun
one of several deities, presiding over some portion of worldly affairs.
an image of a deity; an idol.
any deified person or object.
-verb (used with object)
to regard or treat as a god; deify; idolize.

A being conceived as the perfect (sinless), omnipotent (all powerful) , omniscient (everywhere), the principal object of faith and worship in monotheistic religions.
A being of supernatural powers or attributes, believed in and worshiped by a people, especially a male deity thought to control some part of nature or reality.
An image of a supernatural being; an idol.
One that is worshiped, idealized, or followed.
A powerful ruler or despot.

THAT is the Mary of the RCC and not of the Bible.
No, kujo, this is the image of Mary that exists in your mind, and perhaps in the minds of others who are also ignorant or misled. This is not the teaching of the RCC. It is also concerning that you seem unable to accept that your mental image of what is true is not consistent with what is in reality, true. This is one of the symptoms of psychosis. 🤷

You seem to be under the impression that Jesus and the Apostles were keeping a diary. There was actually very little written down for the first 25 years after Christ’s ascension into Heaven. The one document that we still have from that period (the Didache) never even made it into the Bible.

Nothing of the New Testament began to be written down until the late fifties or early 60s AD. (Paul’s First Letter to the Thessalonians.) The Gospels began to be written down after 67 AD, when St. Peter was brought in chains to Rome. (That’s when they first realized that they weren’t going to live long enough to see the Second Coming, and that they should preserve the tradition of the Gospel in writing. Before that, everything was oral teaching. Most of it has remained oral teaching, even until now.) None of the Gospels were completed until after 70 AD (the Fall of Jerusalem) - the Church itself was spared, ironically, because those who were caught had been force-marched to Rome three years earlier along with St. Peter in chains, and those who escaped had scattered to the rest of the known world.
God wrote a Diary?

I wonder,

Dear Diary,

In the Beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters.

Sincerely Yours,

God,

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

MY Church started in Genesis Chapter 1. All prophecies in the OT are about Jesus. It is because of Him and Him alone that we can be at one with God. There is no other. There is nobody else in our way. People can pray for you but it’s still only through Jesus that we’re made righteous in God’s eyes.
God never told us to lift up the virgin.
God never told us to lift up the donkey that she rode on.
God never told us to praise the burning bush.
God never told us to lift up Jesus’ stepfather.
God sacrificed HIS Lamb, without spot or blemish. HE never said anything about the Lamb’s mother and her condition.

With all of your statues, medallions, paintings and decorations, you have the gall to say that your denomination is the “true church”. It’s not “Catholics vs. Protestants”, it’s “Christians vs. the ‘world’.”

Your denomination sins without repentance. The blind leading the blind.

I’m not saying that I’m perfect or the congregation that I belong to is, either. But I CAN say that we don’t have idols, statues, medallions or a “saint for this or that”. The Bible states that all BELIEVERS are saints. We don’t need permission from a fallible man in Italy to say so. Nobody does.

Repent.
For the love of God, I thought I was reading a thoughtful discussion until this popped up. Congratulations, you accuse of following a fallible man in Italy, yet you stand and proclaim that based on your interpretation of Scripture, we are all wrong…how did you say it?
The blind leading the blind.
Please, formulate a new argument against us, these repetitions are getting old.
Here is a better idea: YOU repent for profaning the One Church CHRIST founded. He prayed that His Church would be one, yet you continue to spread division and discord.

You trust a neopagan website for information on what the Catholic Church teaches about Mary? Look at the website you post on: CATHOLIC ANSWERS. Try looking there.
1.She who gives birth to heaven and earth,
2.She who knows the orphan,

3.She who seeks justice for the poor people,
4.She who seeks shelter for the weak people
(I added the numbers)
  1. Mary did not create the heavens and the earth, never taught by the Catholic Church
2.Knows the orphan? Like cares for the orphan? Sounds suspiciously like many Christian women to me…
3 and 4. Wow, this is beginning to sound like my own mother. She prays for justice, and helps out those weaker and poorer than her…maybe my mother is isis also!
Some of Isis’ many other titles were:

1.Queen of Heaven,
2.Mother of the Gods,
3.The One Who is All,
4.The Brilliant One in the Sky,
5.Light-Giver of Heaven,
  1. “1 And a great sign appeared in heaven: A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars: 2 And being with child, she cried travailing in birth, and was in pain to be delivered. …]5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with an iron rod: and her son was taken up to God, and to his throne.” The Apocalypse of St John 12:1-5
She is a Queen, she wears a crown. Simple enough for you?
  2. There is one God, the Most Holy Trinity, Who has no beginning and no end. Our Lady was the Mother of God in the flesh, the Word Incarnate. She did not create God, as isis supposedly did with her pantheon.
  3. One who is all? Thats neo pagan pantheism bro, I dont know how you see Our Lady in that title.
  4. Again, I have never seen that title applied to Our Lady.
  5. God is the giver and source of all Light, that is, our salvation.

Perhaps getting banned from Catholic Answers is a badge of honor in some quarters.

The offender can then tell his buddies how he was really “preaching the word” until he was banned for “speaking the truth in love.”

This nonsense has gone on long enough, don’t you think???

The Catholics on this forum have offered clear, respectful, reasonable, and provable explanations for our Marian beliefs.

In turn, kujo313 has continued to misrepresent, rail at, and blaspheme the Faith establshed by Christ.

I wish to God the moderators would CLOSE THIS THREAD
once and for all.

I’ve read on these forums about some Catholics going to CARM to see how long they can post before they’re banned, too.

Hardly a good way to win someone for Christ…but what do I know, I’m just a dumb sheep. 🤷

Pixie-

If they go to CARM specifically to be rude and cause trouble, then they should be banned. If they are banned simply because they defend that Catholic faith with passion and begin to get the upper hand in the debate, then that is another matter.

No one is complaining about Kujo or Believers because they are scoring any points…the complaint is about their lack of respect and charity toward their brothers and sisters in Christ.

Hope this helps. :tiphat:

My personal opinion, I hope that Kujo and Believers don’t get banned. They’re only marginally disrespectful of Our Lady, so far. Having known people like this personally, I’m quite certain that, if they were to let themselves really hang it out, they could make what they’ve said so far seem mild. So, I think they’re being pretty self-controlled, all things considered.

I’d rather they stayed around. I think it is very useful to have people like this posting, and being refuted. Lots of people look in on these threads, but wouldn’t dream of posting. But they DO read. And, they get informed in the process. Kujo and Believers are their own worst enemies in terms of their representation of the fundamentalist mindset. Of course, the moderators are in charge, but if there were a vote being taken, I’d vote in favor of having them remain and continue, for now.

Your religion has no authority.
The church has every authority. Jesus gave it to us.😉

Glad Kujo was finally banned, although I will miss him. For his part was wonderful entertainment and a sourse of renewal for my devoution to Mary. People like him are the reason I love being Catholic.

It’s just goes to show moderators can only tolerate so much complaints about users who just insist that our Church teaches error and call it all sorts of horrible things.

It just to remind all of Catholics and Protestants alike not to let your anger dictate your moods in this forum. Otherwise, you may loose your privilege.

kujo’ll be back, been banned at least once before that I know of.
I certainly do hope that banning is used as a last resort. We wouldn’t want to give opposers a persecution complex, would we?
They only become more convinced that they are suffering for Christ’s sake, rather than their own irksomeness.

It is a last resort. The get tickets(infractions), warnings, reminders about the rules, etc. even then they won’t get banned unless they repeate the infractions intractibly. Kujo had the same violations on every thread, and was getting increasingly hostile and offensive.

What got to me finally, was kujo’s insulting remark that we Catholics repeat the Hail Marys because we think Mary must have Alzheimer’s disease. That was WAAAAAY over the line.

From that point on, I really wanted the Mods to do something
about him. That’s really crossing the line between lively debate and vicious, below-the-belt insults.

God bless,

That is very insulting I just hope we learn something from this. Let’s get back on topic.

Any Non-Catholic Christians have any issues with Mary? If not, I think we may have to close this thread.

Hi
I agree with your above words.
Thanks
