Question about miraculous medal?

How does one get enrolled in a miraculous medal? Or does one just simply put it on? Is there any rules towards wearing it? And can you wear it while also wearing a scapular? I’ve looked for these questions before, but cannot find any valid answer. Thank you.

Sacramentals can receive a simple blessing from a priest and then be used. From the fourth edition of the Manual of Indulgences (2005) -

Norm 15: The faithful can acquire and indulgence if they use devoutly one of the following properly blessed pious objects, namely: a crucifix or cross, rosary, scapular, or medal.

Enrollment in confraternities usually requires commitment to certain daily prayers for others, and an annual contribution. These vary with the confraternity. Also members of confraternities may receive indulgences for wearing a scapular or scapular medal on specific days, along with the usual requirements for an indulgence.

You could look into being a member of the Association of the Miraculous Medal, which is administered by the Superior General of the Congregation of the Mission and of the Daughters of Charity. amm.org/ I remember reading once that with this particular association one does not incur obligation.

I wear a miraculous medal , a brown scapular and a St. Benedict crucifix. All of these are sacramentals and are beneficial . Check out these sites and hopfully you will have the answer you need.

There is an investiture for the Miraculous Medal, should you wish. I have done it many times over the years. You may ask any priest to do it. The older form for it is: ewtn.com/library/PRAYER/MIR-MED.TXT

Certainly you may wear the miraculous medal and the scapular at the same time.
