Hi All,
Code:
I have a question. I routinely pray for specific intentions. However, during the summer, I was greatly blessed when this person came into my life when I was very distraught. At the time, it seemed like a blessing. However, since then, my emotions have settled down and I came across some information and I see this person again. It seems like this person has changed, although I do not know if it is because of the new information I came across or the fact that the person is no longer involved in my life as they were before. It seems like whenever I ask God for something and He comes through, it later turns into an affliction. Also, I no longer so sure I would like to be friends with this person after what I came across (though I probably would like to be friends). Why does this happen? Is God angry with me for some reason? How can I prevent this from occuring again? Did I misread the situation during the summer, or expct too much from God? Also, if I misread the situation, how can I pray for a second chance to make the misconstruction a reality, so it is not so emotionally painful or an affliction? Why does this happen? I seem to get a blessing only to later realize it might be an affliction?
Thank You

Parobek,
I don’t think God is angry with you. Why do apparent blessings turn out to be something that causes suffering? I don’t know. Sometimes I’m my life I don’t understand things until years down the road. Maybe it will become clearer to you as time passes. I’d ask God for help in understanding these things. He hears every prayer, and if you talk to Him a lot about your situation, He’ll help. Like I said, sometimes understanding takes time. I’ll pray for you too.

God bless you

Sometimes the blessing someone provides in our life is temporary.

I had a very good friend at one time; we were very, very close. She meant a great deal to me, and helped my life (and my family’s) in many ways. I don’t regret it at all. Fast forward a few years: she changed, and started doing things that weren’t acceptable to me. We no longer were friends after that. For awhile I mourned that we weren’t friends. But for the time being, she was a true blessing in my life.

Thank God for the blessing you received at the time you needed it most.
