Yeah today i whould like to talk about mortal sin because i am confused about certain things

The reason i am asking is because i have anxiety depression mental disablity forgetfulness and ptsd trauma

that s why i whould like to know something and that s why please help me understand i give an example

Example you do something what is wrong but forgetfulness you forget its not right thing not aware you did it are you still guilty of sin?

or if you yell at someone when anxiety increase anger mind completly shuts down that can happen to me alot then do my best to stop sometimes i control my self

that s why i whould ask should i right away shut down my tough because i have really nasty obssesive tough what want me to do something but i ignore it

like best to do breathing right before enything starts because its not easy for me please teach me more because last time i talked about sin of omission but now about my issue

second example

You see someone at the trash can and dont do enything (you wasnt asked to help) is that sin?

if someone sits by me i know and dont go to church is it bad i go along to communion or best to not go and sit that other can see that s not good to go?

give me your ideas what s the best

(Of course i know we should never force enyone but do it with humility but its hard but i am working on it)

For someone reason you see i have obsessions to think so much about my faith since i repented now everything is going a bit pushy way need to get thinks right currently please be gentle with me

You aren’t going to get the help you need on this forum.

Please work with a mental health professional and with a local Catholic priest to work through your issues and questions.

There is lenience for persons that have been diagnosed with certain disorders. The patron saints who come to mind are Saint Dymphna and Saint Raphael the Archangel. Though murder is a mortal sin, the culpability in suicide cases has been reduced which can be found in canon law. But I would avoid feeling like not helping a person near a garbage can is sinful because that sounds like something called “scruples” which maybe you can lookup online.

You are in our prayers and don’t do anything drastic. Priests are easy to find by looking on a church website and looking for sacrament of reconciliation or confession.

God bless you!

I understand well you see i am a bit shy to talk to priest that s why i asked that question becuse of my fear i think that everyone will judge me when i explain my disablity anxiety because of stigma

I have a disability so I feel comfortable answering. Let me tell you about one time I went into the confessional. I confessed some unusual sins and the priest asked if I took any medication. I said yes. He asked what I took. I responded with the strongest one. He said he was also a psychologist when he is not a priest and forgave me all my sins based on what I took being so severe.

You never know what happens in there but many years later while hospitalized for an episode a priest honored my request to be enrolled in the st Michael scapular. I now feel very saved and empowered. The confessional is a special place I recommend to everyone.

Dear Sebo3e:

I have MUCH good news for you. But first, don’t stop doing what you’re doing (guarding against mortal sin shows that … whatever shortcomings you think you have elsewhere) … your priorities could hardly be better.

BECAUSE you are taking mortal sin so seriously, you will probably do better and better in avoiding these, repenting of them, recognizing the near occasions of sin that lead to the more difficult temptations and … gaining more graces from Jesus to complete you along the way.

Sometimes we commit mortal LEVEL sins (grave matter) without knowledge that our deeds WERE such or without the following “full consent of our wills” … and so haven’t technically QUITE committed a MORTAL sin. This is not cause for celebration or even relief of course … and we should probably confess these anyway ASAP.

Your examples of sins of omission are blessing each reader here.

Whether the omission is a MORTAL sin or just a great disappointnent to God when we pass UP a holy opportunity we might easily do to demonstrate or love for God and neighbor.

A paralyzing fear of sin is “not bad” when it gets results … even though allowing the Holy Spirit to inspire us with such love that we naturally just say YES to Him all the time (or more and more) is a higher virtue than just “sin avoidance”.

I pray we all grow in that spiritual maturity … recognizing evil at ALL levels … but being led away powerfully by the Holy Spirit to a point where temptations of our past just seem silly and lose their power.

Jesus seems to be guiding you. And giving you wisdom and a desire for holy fortitude. Feel His pleasure with you and HIS encouragement AS you continue your discernment and high aspirations.

Thanks. You have blessed me.

You seem scrupulous. I myself suffer from this cross. It it is difficult. But it is not good to seek help here. It will continue the cycle of reassurance. See the 10 commands for the scrupulous and see a priest.

God Bless!

Sadly i cant because its very expensive in my country Croatia i am on my own but at least i found good resources i can work on its helpfull currently since i prayed more and more my coincance started to work and tell me to

Ask my self to help my self to pray and to work on things i didnt thing before now i think more about what to do about my issues and noticing my past issues like angery anxiety etc

Please speak wih a Priest. You can say in confession that you are not sure. Let him guide you.
