This question is about something very insignificant, which I know, and please do not get the idea that I am complaining; I am not.
I always wondered why the refrain of the psalm on Palm Sunday reads, “My God, My God, why have you abandoned me?” when the Passion narratives read, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” I know both of them virtually mean the same thing, but why doesn’t the psalm just coincide with the reading by saying “forsaken”? It’s silly; I know, but I just really want to know.
