I was watching a documentary on HBO that shows different bad things around the world (it is called VICE). I am suffering from OCD/scruples so I promised God I was going to watch it. When the show was starting, the show said that it had brief nudity. However when I read a review on commonsensemedia.org, the show said nothing about nudity in the review commonsensemedia.org/tv-reviews/vice . So I decided to watch it. They were showing the huge problem of finding a girlfriend for men in china due to the one child policy.then all of a sudden they show a man being interviewed in his apartment and it shows a picture of a topless women. I instantly changed it when I saw it. Did I commit a mortal sin because I watched it besides the warning because of the review and the fact I made a scrupulous promise to God,

No…it happened inadvertently.

Speak to a priest or spiritual director about scrupulosity.

Why would you make a promise to God to watch a show you figured would have bad things in it?

BTW you can only sin if you deliberately and purposefully watched it because you knew it would have nudity in it…you didn’t so no sin. I wouldn’t call it venial, because you seriously had no idea and you immediately changed the channel when you saw it.
