If something is meant to happen, is it alright for me to ask God that I would like for it to happen within a certain frame of time? I am praying that I find a serious relationship by the end of the year.

If I may i’d like to recommend you start a 54 day novena to our lady of Pompeii. Also, If you don’t go to church start and go often. Lastly, if there is an Adoration Chapel near you go there. Now, this doesn’t garanty anything. However, I did and do all of the above and I was blessed with the perfect woman for me. It may not work. But, what do you have to lose. Good luck, God Bless, and seriously pray. Plus, and this I highly recommend. If you can join a Catholic dating site. That way you’ll find a person with similar religious views. Trust me that’s very important. Not that opposing views can’t work but it makes it that much harder when children eneter the picture and you want to raise them in the faith.

You don’t say why the timescale is so important. If it’s health issues etc, then that’s a special case, I would say. Otherwise, I like to try to ask God to help me be patient and to reveal to me why the wait is necessary. In time, I find most things become abundantly clear. I did not meet my husband until my 30s and he had certainly been worth waiting for. But that is very easy for me to say now that I can see the full picture

Yes , all prayer is good. GOD always has our best interests in mind even if he doesnt always answer them in the time frame we expect. So dont worry if the answer doesnt come before the end of the year. Just keep praying. A priest once told me that GOD answers all prayer. Sometimes the answer is no. Even if it is - dont stop asking. Who knows - maybe GOD will answer your prayer tomorrow. You just never know.
