I know that Priests mostly get married in all Churches except the RCC.
I’m wondering about their lives as Priests “in the world” if you understand- Or priests who are fully immersed in the lives of their flock in more ways than the RC Priests.

Are they permitted to date? Are there specific guidelines of Courtship and marriage for them apart from other lay persons?
Also, how does one become a Priest? -Do they have seminaries studies as in the RCC for years and years? How do they make a living for their families? Do the wives have to serve a special role in the Church being the wife of the Priest?

I’m just curious about the life of a priest in the Eastern and Orient traditions if any of you are one, know one, or even just know about them.

Priests don’t get married, but they can be married before becoming priests. In other words, a man may marry while he is a semenarian – but not once he is ordained as a priest.

They are only permitted to date if they are in seminary. Once a man becomes a priest, he cannot date.

Guidelines are the same for any other Catholic male. The only difference is that a woman may have to discern if she is ready to be a priest’s wife.

Discernment. Then seminary.

The wives do serve special roles and are often distinguished from other wives. For example, the priest’s wife is called Pani Rose. Rose is her name, Pani is her “title.”
