I am currently working Monday to Friday 9-5, I would love to be able to attend Mass during the week but I can’t unfortunately. Is there anything wrong with reading the Mass readings in my Missal for the days that I am unable to attend? I mean I have done this for the past few days and really enjoyed the readings, I have been doing it when I return home from work and it’s been something to really look forward to.

No worries. Totally fine to read them outside of Mass. In fact, we should do that in order to prepare ourselves to hear the readings at Mass. I just don’t want you tending towards scrupulosity. God is not the Almighty Smighter looking to shoot lighting out of His fingertips at us if we dare read the Bible outside of the “proper” time! Cheers.

You can read Scripture, including Mass readings, any time you like.
In fact, the Church encourages us to do so.
You may want to look up how to do Lectio Divina, which is a method of prayerfully studying the readings.
If you don’t like Lectio Divina, just reading the readings is fine too.

This is actually a very good thing to do. Afterall, they are selections from the Bible. 🙂

I’ll echo the above comments - it’s a great thing to do in a prayerful way that suits your circumstances, and as Father suggests above, it’s ideal that Mass isn’t your first exposure to them for that day.
