Ok. I read somewhere that one may recieve Communion in a state of mortal sin if

A. There is no opportunity to go to confession between the time the sin is committed and the time for recieving Communion.

B. A sincere Act of Contrition is prayed before receiving.

C. The very first opportunity is taken to go to Confession.

Is this true?

I was taught that no, we shold never receive Communion without Confession if we are in a state of mortal sin

Try to plan ahead, confess first if you must, then sin.
Please ignore veyismir’s post Texas. He is either being facetious or is misinformed. It is a sacrilege to go to confession without a firm purpose to avoid sin.

As far as receiving the Holy Eucharist is concerned, in the event of danger of death when one has no opportunity to confess, a perfect act of contrition should be made before receiving Viaticum.

In any circumstances do not received communion if you are under the state of mortal sin, you are just adding another mortal sin of doing so. You can say confession after the mass and just received a blessing in communion time instead of receiving it. May be a sincere acts of contrition if your life is in danger and no priest available.

All of the above are wrong! You have been misinformed.

One is to goto confession first…

CCC

1385 To respond to this invitation we must prepare ourselves for so great and so holy a moment. St. Paul urges us to examine our conscience: "Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord. Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For any one who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself."216 Anyone conscious of a grave sin must receive the sacrament of Reconciliation before coming to communion.

There can be circumstances …but these are usually rare…but ordinarily one is to go to confession prior to Communion if one has committed a mortal sin.

But these are not the norm…a good example would be a person is out living in some place where there is not Priest and one comes only say every 6 months or something…
(one is to make a perfect act of contrition of course)

(extreme example of course …but extreme examples are good for illustration)
