Hi,
I have recently learned of what “reserved sins” are. I know they are different than excommunication, and that some of them are excommunicable. Sometime within the past year or two I was in Mass and was receiving the Host, but when the priest placed it in my mouth, the corner hit my tongue a piece flew out I believe, since I saw something white go flying. I was so scared in the moment and felt so much pressure to say something but didn’t because I caved to embarassment to burst out mid Mass to the priest. (Btw I was only 15 or 16, nor sure for certain what my age was at the time.) i am reading now that it is a reserved sin to desecrate the Eucharist. Would this mean by my possible omission, I incurred a reserved sin? I read it depends on the Diocese. I am in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. I would truly appreciate it if someone who understands this could help me out.
I did tell the Deacon after Mass about what happened.
Thank you for your time.
