What happens if you take communion with dirty hands? Would it be considered as sacrilege?

What if someone took communion by hands let’s say he knew it was a little bit dirty but still continue anyway to take the communion with it without thinking that it’s sacrilege or only had the thought of “what if it’s sacrilege?”.
 
If your hands were clean enough that you shook hands at the Sign of Peace with them then they’re probably OK.
If you are really worried, most churches have a bathroom to wash hands in.
If it was a rush or an emergency (like you had to run to Mass straight from your construction job) and no slight was intended on Our Lord, don’t worry about it.

No. (But, washing your hands once before going to Mass isn’t a bad idea. 😉 )

But, if you’re very worried, I suppose you could have one of those little bottles of hand sanitizer with you, and use it before going up to receive the Eucharist.
 
Sacrilege is a serious word that is thrown around liberally when it shouldn’t be.

Receiving with a dirty hand would be at most not ideal. It isn’t sacrilege and it’s not a reason to abstain.

If you’re in communion line and realize your hands are covered in radioactive waste or something you could also receive on the tongue. Or use a wipe / hand sanitizer.
