Question about scriptures

I asked this on another forum but I think it is the wrong one. I was hoping to get several answers but nothing. I think this is a more appropiate forum for it. So if a moderator wants to move that question here. That would be fine. But for now I’ll post my question here.

We see with Origen’s Hexpala that he uses the works of Theodotian, Symmachus, and Aquila. Plus he did his own rendering in the Fifth column. I’m not sure where Lucian translated his version. However, is there evidence to older LXX translations and what books would have been in this old Greek Translation? Also I wonder if it is significant that there aren’t any Targumim for the Deuterocanonical books? How early is this prohibition by the Jews about no real Targum for the Kevutim? Though we do see something for the Sifrei Emet. But there are two official Targum for the Torah and the Neviim. Is this significant when considering canon? And could it be said that Jesus never quoted from the LXX? And the corrisponding similiarities be blamed on Origens hexpala? For which his 5th column is sourced to created the codex Sinaticus, Vaticanus, Alexandradatus? I’m curious.

There are some LXX manuscripts found among the Dead Sea Scrolls. I did a project a while back where I lined up the Greek Minor Prophets scroll up against the LXX and Theodotian, Symmachus, and Aquila. I also linked every Greek word to a lexicon so you can see what each word means.

There are a number of LXX manuscripts that are older than Origen’s Hexapla, here is a link to lots of Bible manuscripts that have some of the ones you are curious about, even the Hexapla litteralchristianlibrary.wetpaint.com/page/Ancient+Bible+Manuscripts

If you are truly interested in this, I would recommend getting a Greek LXX critical text that is up to date such as the Gottingen. Here is a link logos.com/products/prepub/details/4950 Expensive, huh! I’ve got one volume right now.

As for the Targum questions, that is not my forte.

I think the Targum question is important. What have your findings lead you to conclude? Now the Older text of the LXX makes me wonder if it was expanded beyond Torah or the TNK?

No the links work but once I’m on the page if I click on a greek word I get a partial summation of the word ie pronunciation but I don’t get the deffinition or how its used.

At the top right corner says lexical entry, which tells you the definition. Try it again and see.
