I hope to find the answer from the students. I know that everyone does it but not many of us are willing to talk about it publicly. The question is about cheating and writing the assignments with the help of your friend of professional writing service. What is it said about it in the Bible? I have used Primewriting site and I do not know how I should feel about it. They helped me with the proofreading only. So, not a word was written by their experts. As a student and employee at university, but - simply as human, I can tell you a strict IT IS WRONG.
We should not lie,and this is exactly this: lying.
You will always find study groups and professionals offering tutorials at university in academic writing etc. You simply don´t need to cheat. It´s unfair against other good students who work hard and spent much time on their works.

Your writing style is part of your skill as scientist, not only your researched data and your theses. Others will work with your material, and, if you have ever proofread for a scientific publishing company, you would know it makes a difference if the person was able to develop his or her writing style based on own skills or if it is “made up”. Please don´t see writing skills as a anyoing side work during your studies, it´s essential.

You will have to check with your school regarding their policy of proofreading services, but I can’t imagine that is against policy as most have academic writing labs that help students on campus these days.

Having a professional editor is NOT cheating. My college and the one I worked at offered free tutoring through “Smart Thinking” and another service I forget.

However, you are using a sketchy sight. Don’t do that. If discovered it will cause many issues.

I would recommend using a legit source like Smart Thinking, Grammarly and any recommended by your college. I also used a service recommended by my college but that I had to pay for that ensured my APA citations were formatted correctly. I always cited my work but the actual citation…uggggggg.

At the graduate business school I attended, in the U.S., with many foreign born students and students for whom English is not their first language, there was a “Writing Center” for that very purpose.

Where you’ve done the research and basic writing and you’re only getting help with the minor details, I don’t see that as a problem. But, just to be sure, I would check the school’s policy.

I tend to agree with other respondents that proofreading services are okay, provided that your school’s code of honor does not prohibit it. Still, in the long run, you will be glad if you take the time now to develop your own proofreading and editing skills.

It’s not that bad. I got used to citing in the preferred format. It’s like blinking now.

Heavens no.

I have my masters and I never got the hang of APA. I loathe it.

Chicago Manual makes SO MUCH more sense. (I used that for by business degree) Even MLA is better. APA is just a testimony to just how difficult academics can make things.

Did I mention I hate APA.

Not worth my time to learn. If I ever publish professionally (more than just freelance blogs that have minimal, not formatted citations) I will pay someone to make sure my citations are formatted correctly. It’s not cheating at all to not give a crud about freaking APA and have someone else make the corrections.

Thanks for all your answers. I really appreciate your (name removed by moderator)ut. It is the truth that a student has to figure out his assignment by himself. And I agree that it is unfair towards those students who work hard. Why do writing services thrive? Why is it becoming popular among the students? Can you answer these questions? Just google it and you will be surprised at the number of companies to go to. I have heard the stories from the students who have high grades. It happened when they were overwhelmed and thanks for these services they could manage to pass everything on time. So, that’s how and why reached the service I have mentioned in the question, Prime Writing.

Provided the ONLY service you used was proofreading, you should be fine. All of my professors encourage proofreading and often we would use other students to proofread our papers. Grad students often hire proofreaders and editors to work with their theses and dissertations.

Ask your professor if it is allowed. They’ll let you know. I can’t imagine they have a problem with it.
