Question about Suicide by Mentally Unbalanced Person

I have a Question here-------
I think this is the right Forum:

I saw an Episode of Dr. G, Medical Examiner (yeah, I know:D) where a 49-year old Man who suffered from Depression and was developing feelings of being Persecuted was given a Muscle Relaxant by Doctors to help ease his Extreme Back Pain.

Turns out that (apparently) the Man took too many Pills over the limit recommended, which (it turns out) can cause Delusional Episodes in people (for this particular medication).
Apparently the Medication INCREASED his Paranoia and he ended up Hallucinating someone was about to kill Him------and he ended up HORRIBLY STABBING HIMSELF TO DEATH right in front of his Young Son. :eek:

The poor Boy tried to stop it but cut himself in the process.
It was Horrible.

Question is----------
Since that Suicide was done under influence of Delusional Insanity-----will that Man end up going to Hell for Killing Himself under Church Teaching?
I will check the Catechism in advance also when I get the chance.

Poster Below asked an important question and I will write this in clarification:
Let’s assume the Man was a Catholic—I have no idea if He was Or Not.
Hypothetical Question.
 
How would you know if he was Baptised? Or your speaking hypothetical?

But for example a Catholic Baptised would be accidental in regards to this situation. No intent involve’s no guilt per the Council of Trent.

I’ve seen that channel, rough station, no?

Hypothetical.

He probably would be in Danger of going to hell if he was Non_catholic or an Atheist;

I’m saying if he WAS Catholic.
 
You can’t make that incertion that just because he was not baptizes or that he was an atheist that he will be going to Hell for committing suicide. Suicide among the mentally ill is better understood today so the Church is unwillingly to condemn such an action as it use to in the past. I am sure God will have more mercy towards the mentally ill then what the Church thinks. Reading your post gives me the indication that this man was not at fault. I can remember a story written in a book on the letters of St.Padre Pio who related in one of his letters a concern over a man who took his own life and the Saint said that God had mercy on this man and despite the fact he killed himself God gave him Graces at the end so not to condemn him. We forget what God can do during those final moments.
 
I trust God to make the right decision, so I don’t worry about it. 🙂
