My point is that you should check in advance to see if there is a Church where you are going, and using the travel example you are only excused your obligation if the travel is “necessary travel”. If it is not necessary travel then you would need a dispensation. A holiday is not “necessary travel”.The key point is “willfully” skip.
Obviously if one is traveling, one should look and see what Catholic churches are in the vicinity. That doesn’t mean you can’t visit an area because there are no Catholic churches around.
You can’t lounge around Sunday morning in your hotel room because you’re on vacation and don’t want to be bothered with mass and have tons of tourist attractions to visit.
However, common sense says if there aren’t any churches around, like if you are on a 7-day cruise and are at sea on Saturday and Sunday, then you can’t attend mass.
It doesn’t mean you can’t take 7-day cruises.
I would spend an hour in prayer and reading the Word in a situation like this.
