Question about the Litany of the Holy Name of Jesus

I’ve been praying this ever since I got a Baronius Press Missal in the mail a few weeks ago (a very worthwhile purchase, though its leather cover is a permanent temptation for RPR Junior :)).

In the Litany, one of the titles given to Our Saviour is “Jesus, Father of the world to come.”

What is the origin of this title, and how does the concept of fatherhood here differ from that of God the Father? 🙂

(I know it’s probably going to be something obvious, but I can be dense sometimes. :o)
 
Looking it up, I found that this is one of the titles of Christ from Isaiah 9:6, one especially influenced by the Vulgate/Douay-Rheims:

For a CHILD IS BORN to us, and a son is given to us, and the government is upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called, Wonderful, Counsellor, God the Mighty, the Father of the world to come, the Prince of Peace.

Thanks! 👍 I’ve usually seen that title rendered as “Everlasting Father” in the Bibles I use, but I guess it works out to the same thing.
