Question about the Rosary

I joined the Confraternity of the Rosary and I just wanted to make sure I understood it correctly. I pray 5 decades of the Rosary daily, is that what is required? Or are we required to pray the 15 (or 20) decades on one day?

Concerning the Confraternity of the Rosary, the requirement is understood to mean five decades of the Rosary per day, so long as over the perios of the entire week a person covers the 20 decades of the Rosary.
If you wished to say more, that is up to the individual.

Hi,
I say five decades of the Rosary a day. I have a beautiful little book from Magnificat called the Magnificat Rosary Companion. It gives a lovely meditation for all the mysteries plus some extra prayers.

Each member strives to pray fifteen mysteries of the Rosary each week (this does not bind under sin), and must have his/her name inscribed in the register of the Confraternity. There are no meetings, no dues.

Since the Holy Father has recently added the five luminous mysteries, it would seem that members of the Confraternity should strive to include that extra weekly Rosary. However, we have as yet received no official statement regarding this matter. Those who recite only the fifteen traditional mysteries will continue to share in the benefits of the Confraternity until some official source declares the contrary.

So in fact only 3 (5 mystery rosaries) per WEEK is the obligation for membership, barring any illness etc. at the present time.

Saying a rosary every day is better, and more than fulfills the obligation.
