I have seen many Catholics profess themselves on how they are all united in faith. I have a question about that, does that include whether a Catholic believes Non-Catholics go to hell or not? Cause I have been told by more then 1 Catholic, that Non-Catholics go to hell, but then I have heard others say the opposite, is this part of the Non-United in the RCC or is does this mean that one of them isn’t a Catholic, or what?

Please no flaming, no trolling, and no dis-respect, I am tired of all 3, and they seem to inter-twine.

Catholic unity is a description of Catholic Doctrine. The Church defines itself, and you must agree with the Church in order to be a faithful Catholic.

The Catholic Church will always be united on doctrinal matters related to faith and morals because there is a single source for issuing doctrine.

So, which one is right?

This is what we as Catholic’s believe. This is what the Church teaches.

To my non-Catholic Christian brothers and sisters…
838 "The Church knows that she is joined in many ways to the baptized who are honored by the name of Christian, but do not profess the Catholic faith in its entirety or have not preserved unity or communion under the successor of Peter."322 Those "who believe in Christ and have been properly baptized are put in a certain, although imperfect, communion with the Catholic Church."323 With the Orthodox Churches, this communion is so profound "that it lacks little to attain the fullness that would permit a common celebration of the Lord’s Eucharist."324

God Bless

Informed Catholics and the Church do not profess to know who goes to hell and who does not. The Catholic Church in being the Church of Christ gives the fullness of Christian Faith and as such gives the individual the best chance to attain eternal life and heaven

there exists a single Church of Christ, which subsists in the Catholic Church, governed by the Successor of Peter and by the Bishops in communion with him. The Churches which, while not existing in perfect communion with the Catholic Church, remain united to her by means of the closest bonds, that is, by apostolic succession and a valid Eucharist, are true particular Churches. Therefore, the Church of Christ is present and operative also in these Churches, even though they lack full communion with the Catholic Church, since they do not accept the Catholic doctrine of the Primacy, which, according to the will of God, the Bishop of Rome objectively has and exercises over the entire Church

Baptism constitutes the foundation of communion among all Christians, including those who are not yet in full communion with the Catholic Church: “For men who believe in Christ and have been properly baptized are put in some, though imperfect, communion with the Catholic Church. Justified by faith in Baptism, [they] are incorporated into Christ; they therefore have a right to be called Christians, and with good reason are accepted as brothers by the children of the Catholic Church.”(CCC 1271)

The Catholic Church recognizes the possibility of the salvation of non-Christians as well, although without baptism, the Church is more hesitant to speak of their salvation. Even though Jesus is the only Way, the only Truth, and the only Life, the Church recognizes:that Jesus Christ and no other renders final judgement.

In order to understand what is meant by there is no salvation without the Catholic Church is to understand that the Catholic Church is Christ. The body being the layity and clergy with the head being Christ. There is no salvation without Jesus so there is no salvation without the church

“16. Finally, those who have not yet received the Gospel are related in various ways to the people of God.(18*) In the first place we must recall the people to whom the testament and the promises were given and from whom Christ was born according to the flesh.(125) On account of their fathers this people remains most dear to God, for God does not repent of the gifts He makes nor of the calls He issues.(126); But the plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator. In the first place amongst these there are the Mohamedans, who, professing to hold the faith of Abraham, along with us adore the one and merciful God, who on the last day will judge mankind. Nor is God far distant from those who in shadows and images seek the unknown God, for it is He who gives to all men life and breath and all things,(127) and as Saviour wills that all men be saved.(128) Those also can attain to salvation who through no fault of their own do not know the Gospel of Christ or His Church, yet sincerely seek God and moved by grace strive by their deeds to do His will as it is known to them through the dictates of conscience.(19*) Nor does Divine Providence deny the helps necessary for salvation to those who, without blame on their part, have not yet arrived at an explicit knowledge of God and with His grace strive to live a good life. Whatever good or truth is found amongst them is looked upon by the Church as a preparation for the Gospel.(20*) She knows that it is given by Him who enlightens all men so that they may finally have life. But often men, deceived by the Evil One, have become vain in their reasonings and have exchanged the truth of God for a lie, serving the creature rather than the Creator.(129) Or some there are who, living and dying in this world without God, are exposed to final despair. Wherefore to promote the glory of God and procure the salvation of all of these, and mindful of the command of the Lord, “Preach the Gospel to every creature”,(130) the Church fosters the missions with care and attention.”

God judges us by what we do with what we are given. LG XVI describes the virtue of persevering religion: by which those who are saved can best find God!

The problem is that many Catholics do not have this trait: and therefore do not seek to be united with the church. We are not each popes, we are not infallible: we are as unified, as we are unified with the magisterium, and the church: we are as disunified: as we believe hearsay opinions: things often given by bishops and priests.

Those who are not catholic:

Whatever you do as you read what catholics post here, first remember:

CATHOLICS DO NOT PROFESS TO KNOW WHO IS GOING TO HELL.

I put that in all caps because there are many here on this forum who are ministering OUTSIDE the catholic faith and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Both catholics and noncatholics.

Second: This is NOT a good summation of catholic beliefs or an indication of the opinions of the general public who is catholic.

Please come to a mass. It is Christian and centered around Christ. What could that hurt? If you really want to know, talk to a priest.

Peace Be With You!

The thing about Catholicism is that you have an objective, black-and-white, sure norm of the Faith-- there is One Faith and One Doctrine.

You can find the teachings of the Church in the Catechism along with other documents of the Magesterium. It is easy to determine what the Church teaches on a topic and then compare that to what individual Catholics may say about that topic.

In this case, it is NOT Church teaching that non-Catholics go to Hell. It is also not teaching that they go to Heaven. What is taught is that all men have the *possibility *of Salvation. No one is automatically excluded nor is anyone automatically included. Christ lays out what is necessary for Salvation. God may also have extraordinary means of salvation.

A person who says otherwise is a misinformed Catholic. A Catholic is always Catholic by virtue of their baptism. So, a Catholic who is wrong about a topic is still a Catholic. They are simply wrong-- either through ignorance or through dissent from the Truth.

My dear friend in Christ,

There are thousands of people who participate in the CAF… Catholic and non-Catholic. It seems to me a fair assessment to expresss the view that not all of them really know the faith they are trying to share.😊

The Position of thr RCC is that:
  1. One need not be a Catholic to get to heaven.
  2. Fallen away Catholics who had an opportunity to know “the Way, the Truth and the Light” and for what ever reason, chose not too, are in Grave danger of going to hell.
3.Because the RCC is the only Church actually founded by Jesus Chrsit who is God, all Salvation is mysteriously tied to Her Embrace.
  1. The Bible is a Catholic Book, the entire New Testament was written by Catholics, and the Catholic Bible was the ONLY BIBLE for about one-thousand-five-hunderd-years! Changes made for sake of personal preference don’t count. (2 Tim. 3:16)
What determines where one will spend Eternity, is first of all, a personal choice, that you and I make. Jesus simiply applies Just Action on how we have lived our lifes in accordance to His Divine Will, the Sacramnets, and love of neighbor as we love ourselves.

All of us are sinners. Sin fall into two catagories.(Because of God’s Just and Fair Nature, He cannot judge us all the same). More serious sins that the Catholic Church and the bible call “mortal sin,” and less serious sins that we can “venial sins”.

All sins are saying “No to God” on more serious or less serious issies. Mortal sin is so serious that they actually BREAK our relationship with God until, and unless we “repent and, Confess and convert,” which is also in the bible.

Those who die unrepented, unconfessed with Mortal sins will go to Hell! Others will go to Purgatory to be purified (one who has not been perfected can’t enter Heaven) or of already spiritually perfected, will go to heaven.

That my friend is what informed, practicing Catholics believe, live and teach:)

Love and prayers,

The Catholic Church’s Oneness is a Unity, just as God’s Oneness is a Unity, for the Bride must resemble the Bridegroom. The Church, which is Invisible and Visible, is united by invisible and visible bonds: the invisible bond of charity and the visible bonds of faith, worship, and apostolic succession. The Oneness and Unity of the Catholic Church comes from the Lord, Jesus Christ, true God and true Man, who is truly present in the Blessed Sacrament, for He is the Maker of all things seen and unseen and He is the Word of God, of which Christianity is the Religion. The invisible bond of communion - charity - binds all Christ’s faithful together, in Heaven and in Purgatory and in the world, and the visible bonds of communion - faith, worship, and apostolic succession - bind the Catholic Church in the world together, ultimately in Holy Communion, which auguments the soul’s union to the Lord. And just as Jesus is the invisible God and visible Man, so too is the Church which He has founded Divine and Human, Invisible and Visible, being the Mystical Body of Christ.

The Catholic Church most certainly is NOT united on doctrinal matters. That is a ridiculous statement. There may be a published doctrine that gives the church’s official position but that in no way confirms unity. All one need do is refer to all prior councils right up to Vat 2 and take a look at the votes on issues. Unity would mean that everyone agrees 100% with what is being decided on. That sadly is not the case as the majority rules every time. Even the earliest councils which were supposed to be ecclesiastical in nature only represented a small portion of the church universal. Nicea had maybe 300 bishops out of 1800 in attendance and even then the council was dominated by the opinions of one or two people.

As recent as the early 20th century Roman Catholic theologians re-interpreted the Lord’s Supper and changed their position on transubstantiation. The Pope at the time decided to stay with what was defined at Trent. Does that mean the theologians all suddenly united on their position? No. Over 50% of Catholics don’t believe in transubstantiation. Is that unity? No. Does that mean they are doomed to go to hell because they don’t believe it?

Anyone that dies in the state of grace will go to heaven…We aren’t God we don’t know whom will be damned or saved…we only know the formula to get to heaven we don’t know how God will judge each of us

Don’t assume God has nothing left to teach you.

There is much yet for all of us to learn.
Don’t assume to know why I can’t go.

It is impossible for me to go because my parents will not allow it. I am only allowed to go to a church if its a Protestant-based church (Baptist/Methodist) any others are in question, Catholic Churches are not allowed, and I doubt when I turn 18 I will take the time out of my life to visit one anyways.

Of course it is.
We may disagree on some issues and may try to make changes.

In the end we follow Sacred Scripture, Sacred Teachings, and Sacred Traditions.
We follow the Cathechism

We believe in ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC,and APOSTOLIC CHURCH. We believe in one Batism for the forgiveness of Sins,

We do not make another Church when we may have a disagreement.

If I go to Church anywhere in the world I know exactly what is happening when and why and can follow the Mass. I can follow prayers in any country.

You see we are the same, We are one.

Did you ever ask your parents why you could not visit a Catholic Church?

Did you ask your Parents for you to believe in Karma?
