Hello! I am a new member and do not know much about how this works, that being said I have a question.
I have been searching and searching the internet and decided to ask here. I have read a lot about devotion to the Sacred Heart and would like to do the devotion myself. With all of my searching I cannot figure out exactly how though. I know part of the devotion is receiving Jesus in communion on the first Friday of every month for nine consecutive months. Also that certain things are promised to those who display an image of the Sacred Heart with honor in their homes. It seemed as though there was more than that to do the devotion but I could not figure out what. So if any know about the Sacred Heart devotion, what are all the things I need to do? Thanks, and God bless!

Thank you! 🙂 That was useful.
I still don’t understand what to do exactly besides the 9-consecutive-1st-Friday-Masses and putting an image of the Sacred Heart in a place of honor in my home + wearing an image of the Sacred Heart. Am I correct in thinking, now, that maybe there are not any EXACT things other than those three things to do unlike in other devotions? That I should set aside those Fridays (as well as time in general) to pray to the Sacred Heart but not SPECIFIC prayers? And that I should keep in mind the infinite Love of the Sacred Heart for us and do acts in mind of bringing comfort to Him because of our offenses and on behalf of our souls but no thing in PARTICULAR? It’s just that in the devotions I have seen before there is normally a specific prayer or act to do usually daily and a certain prayer or sometimes ceremony in the beginning, sometimes a pledge. On the various websites I’ve seen and things I’ve read there are many many prayers but they are all different and give no instructions.
Thanks in advance for being patient with my lack of understanding.

Try spending a Holy Hour in His presence (either exposed at adoration, or reposed in the Tabernacle) once per week. I warn you that it can become addicting!

These are the things that I know about:

Info on Enthronement

Ceremony of the Enthronement

Long and short Acts of Consecration to His Sacred Heart

Holy Hour of Reparation to the Sacred Heart (pdf) Or in booklet form. The type in mine is unusual, but I got used to it and am now quite fond of it!

The book by Fr Croiset, also available on Internet Archive, valuable for information about St Mary Alcoque’s life and experiences, bit also for the set of readings and prayers which make up a substantial portion of the book.
