Question about what I should do

My boyfriend is depressed and he has mentioned that he has thoughts of committing suicide because he misses his parents his mother died in 15’ and his father in '06 . His family doesn’t know that he thinks about killing himself at times his family being two sisters doesn’t know how he is feeling now I don’t know if he gets like this around this time every year or at other times during the year. So I have told someone i used to work with about this and what he has told me I have asked them to watch out for him on my behalf because I’m no longer at his job, do to getting a job in the town I live in and able to talk him through things face to face ,but we do text almost daily about things that are bothering him. I have a feeling that I’m going to be talking with him about this tonight when he gets off. I have started a “prayer chain” on here in the prayer thread of the board so I and millions of others who are catholic are praying for him. Have i done everything that I can do to help or am I missing something?
 
Have you encouraged your boyfriend to seek professional help? That would be something you should do.

Are you in contact at all with his sisters to inquire if he gets depressed around holidays as a rule or if this is new to him?

I don’t know if your boyfriend is Catholic or not, but he could make an appointment to speak to a priest.
 
Encourage him to seek professional help.

Definitely encourage him to get into counseling, if he isn’t already. I agree with IrishMom, talking to his sisters about this time of year is a good idea. I’d also suggest getting in contact with a health professional who can advise you how best to help him. Try to make sure you have a strong support system around you, and look after yourself.
 
No he is not catholic
I have not met one of his sisters she is married though i don’t have any information how to get ahold of her. The other sister is in prison don’t know if she will be out anytime soon. I have miniond what is going on to someone who we both know and that I know is a mandatory abuse reporter.
