*This year All Saints Day is not considered holy day of obligation. *
Why was it changed?
Was it only for this year?
What makes not a Holy day of Obligation? Is it because it is to close to Saturday Vigil Mass?
Lastly, last year US Church did not move the feast of the Immaculate Conception, which fell on a Saturday, what would be the difference?
I am asking this question because I am writing a small article on why All Saints is not a Holy Day of Obligation. This article is for youth and young adult leaders. We created a section on our web site explaining Halloween and this question is part of the section. I just need tips, pointers and a bit of resources to write my article cause I seem to be hitting a wall. Even some of my resource books don’t have an explanation. If you can give me just paragraph numbers or something to work with.
Thanks and God bless
