I’m sorry that you see it as ‘bashing’, and I apologize for where our preachers are too hard on you. Much of it is history written in the history books and is well known, but obviously you don’t like to hear it thrown up all the time.
It’s not that they are too hard on us…Satan has been attacking the Church for 2000 years and we are used to and even welcome legitimate grievances, and debate. The problem with the SDA is that they make fantastic claims, and never back them up with any evidence. Just slander and half truths to trap the unwary, and the ignorant. If you want to debate, or evangelize someone like me you are going to have to offer evidence (“Come let us reason together”). You have no doubt been told by your leaders that Catholics don’t know the scriptures, and don’t know why they worship the way they do. By now after visiting this website you are finding out different. It’s just one of the many lies you have been taught.
So brother greggy I say what I mean, I love and respect you as a fellow Christian, its just I believe we have a message to preach, and I am really sorry that it hurts you.

Shalom. May ~God bless all here. Michael.🙂
False and unsubstantiated accusations perpetrated by the SDA don’t hurt me at all…They only hurt the accusers who propagate them and the ignorant who are deceived.

Well, love and understanding to all on this Forum. However as a visitor on your Forum I can understand you annoyance at me trying to explain the Apostasy of the Papacy.

In a quick Internet Search I have come up with a general description of the Dark Ages, 1200 years of papal persecution, a long time friends: and probably beginning in the United States, the Land of Freedom, the tables will be overturned and Persecution begin again.

I will not bore or annoy you with a long list of evidence from the Internet which will only make you angry and I really do not want to do that. Suffice to say remember what you learned from the Adventist Church if you and i are still living when history repeats itself.

So bye for now and if I have outstayed my welcome on you Forum I shall Go Away…

Shalom. May God bless all here. Michael. Farewell!!👍

PS. I am well aware that you hate the Book The Great Controversy, but it details all that I have found on the Internet plus a whole lot more. Much of it copied from History Books of her time as well as the Gift of Prophecy…Farewell…

Was your quick internet search on the EGW estate website? What you state above is Mrs. White’s story in her writings.

Oh go on ahead and bore us with a long list of evidence…just provide citations as to where you find your evidence if other than Mrs. White’s writings.

And while you’re at it please provide the scriptures that you talk about. The Catholics on here would love to study the scriptures with you! The only thing I ask is that you deal with one subject at time. It has been a tendency with some Adventists on here to list the texts from majority of their 28 Bible studies, which makes it difficult to address specific topics and points.

I also recommend that you look at the Dies Domini website and the SDA2RC website listed below in my signature. There are good articles on there that prove that your understanding of the 2300 day prophecy and anti-christ status of the pope, just don’t hold up to historic or Biblical facts…it is amazing!

God bless all!!!

When was Sunday obeservance initiated within the Catholic Church? I thought that through Christ’s death, the new covenant had commenced and nothing could be added after Christ’s death. Sunday observance in regards to Christ’s resurrection makes sense, but why wasn’t it always that way after the new covenant?

Brother… I have been following and lurking along this entire time since the OP and I must say you did try your best to defend what your church teaches but I think you got a little exposed here and you have definatly emboldened my faith in the Catholic church (not that it was needed)… I think its obvious that a doctrine of fantastic prophecy and conspiracy attracts a certain mentality that can be dangerous… correct me if im wrong but there are many off shoots of SDA that became all out cults… Jones Town, branch Davidians and a few others out west. I hope that eventually it will sink in what you have learned here and it can change you.

Hi Bro…Foxes Book of Martys would be a good place to start and i remember lots of historical programmes on tv talking of the ‘christian crusades’ though actually it was the papal crusades. Plenty of blood in those history books bro, glad I wasn’t alive then…

Sorry to say this and I mean that, Hitler tried to hide the evidence…so did the church fathers in that time…

But enough! Shalom. May God bless all here. Michael

PS I am not an Elder, just an ordinary Seventh-day Adventist Christian. 🤷
The same old SDA song and dance, no specifics, just lots of insinuations…The crusades by the way did much to advance civilization. Why don’t you start with something specific, something that can be checked…come on, I’m giving you a chance to prove some of your accusations.

There is evidence in the New Testament that Christians started worshiping on Sundays early on. Pentecost occurred on a Sunday. St John writing in his Apocalypse states that he was in the spirit on the “Lords Day”. By the time Emperor Constantine legalized Christianity in the 3rd or 4th century( I forget which). Sunday worship had been long established. I don’t know what you mean by “nothing could be added after Christ’s death”. Jesus gave the authority to govern his Church to St Peter and the apostles telling them that “whatsoever you bind on earth is bound in heaven.” I heard an SDA maintain that St John meant the “Sabbath” when he said the “Lords day”. But we know that St John being a Jew would have said the Sabbath if he had meant the Sabbath. Indeed, by saying the “Lords Day” we can infer that he meant some other day other than the Sabbath. More than likely 1st century Christians were worshiping on Sunday.

If that if your purpose you have not started explaining yet. Start, we are ready for you.

Like David Koresh and his followers, some people are really living in an imaginary, non-existent world.

Unfortunately, life is too short even Ellen White did not live long enough to see that her false predictions never came true.

Coming here using the internet and the GC as your main source sounds desperate.

Hello brothers and sisters in Christ. Just popped in and lurked over you responses One Last Time, fishisgood!!

In many ways we are Chalk and Cheese so I shall indeed stop Lurking on this Catholic Forum.

BUT what I will say is Yes, I respect you all for your obvious Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and in His Salvation. Yes I have learned something during my time with you.
I always Respected you all, but now I Respect you all even more…because You know What You Believe and Why You Believe it!! As I do.

So I pray that we may ALL keep searching for a closer Relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, Creator, Saviour and Coming King. And be reunited in person in Heaven, where we shall ALL be ONE in Christ!! And have Eternity to enjoy each others company in perfect harmony.

I won’t say that I have no more to learn from you but we are too different to ever agree in this world…yes agree on Salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ! Agree on living a more Christ like life, ready to spread the Good News of Salvation. As well as bringing Aid and Succour to the needy and homeless of this old world.

You never answered me whether any of you had been to Rome and the Vatican!!! I understand where you live makes it expensive. But I will be going back, to me it is History and Present and Future combined, where past and present meet!! So amazing and interesting and such an atmosphere without its equal in the whole world!!

So, Farewell, farewell brothers and sisters, keep up the good work of seeking to know your Faith better and I pray we shall meet in person with The Person in Heaven one day!

God bless. Good luck. Take Care and enjoy you lives as well as you can.

Shalom. May God bless all here. Michael.👍🙂

Hi Michael,

I pray this prayer with you!!! Just remember that the good news is that we don’t have to wait to be reunited in Heaven for us ALL to be ONE. We live in The Kingdom of God, and procalim it now. Jesus established His Church for all who believe to be one with Him and each other here, now, and always, just as it was in the beginning before sin entered our world. As we as individuals unite with Jesus’ Body and Spirit, we all become One Body…His Body…United and living in Christ Jesus! Jesus in His great love has given us the means by which, through faith, we become One Body…with Him and all who are in communion with Him. And united in Him and by Him, we walk in life eternal.

Let us also pray that we discover and live that unity…His Unity…here and now!!!

God bless you and farewell!!!

God bless all!!!

  1. this leads me to restate what i said before. he came on here thinking that with a few word he would get us heathen Catholics to “see the light and convert”. not knowing/thinking that we would respond with the Truth and refute his arguements/attacks.
  2. why does it matter if we have been to the Vatican. you dont need to go there to be Catholic. we could just as easily ask you if you have been to the white estate in silver spring, maryland. or to your “pope” jan paulson’s estate?

I have an SDA aquainance who when he found out I was Catholic decided to enlighten me. He refered me to their website which contains a number of lectures about the Bible, and the Catholic Church. It was a very enlightening experience but not in the way my friend had hoped for. I responded to some of the accusations, and innuendos I found on this website, but never got his rebuttal. The only thing he told me was that I “Didn’t know the scriptures”. The way he spoke to me I could tell he had been told that Catholics don’t know the Bible, and don’t know why they worship (or who they really worship). This brother2 has no doubt been fed the same propaganda. As kipling once put it “They twist the truth to make a trap for fools”

Well Hi Poppickers.

I’m a brother2 making a ‘Star Guest Appearance’ on the ‘One True Church Show’! Having previously just been on one or two Sections of the Show and on Questions for Adventists, in which I attempted to answer Questions put by Producers and Contributors of the ‘One True Church Show’.

However, accused of only coming on to try and convert Catholics and being rather ‘abused’ decided to stop appearing on this section of the 'One True Church Show. Instead just making Guest Appearances!

Producers at the ‘One True Church Show’ are very happy to quote their sources of evidence from the Church Fathers, and very quick to display their interpretation of Bible texts, yet being very reluctant at listening to other sources of evidence and Bible interpretation.

brother2 tried to lighten the atmosphere by talking about my visits to Rome yet once again the wrong meaning was taking out of it. Also, acknowledging the other contributors and producers as brothers and sisters did not seem to help.

brother2 came on the ‘Show’ simply to answer Questions when led there by a search engine. Then began ‘giving as good as I got’ when my own Church was criticized.

So after this ‘Star Guest Appearance’ on ‘The One True Church Show’ I will disapear again into the ‘Internet Jungle’. And wish all the Producers and Contributors God’s blessing.

Shalom. God bless all hear. Michael.

PS. Believe it or NOT, the above is meant partly as a bit of fun and partly showing how I feel in humour…

Special Greetings to fishisgood!!🙂

Might I make a suggestion to the SDA’s watching the “show”? Try Googling the “history of Christianity”. From there you can go to the secular encyclopedia “Wikipedia”, and there you can read about the history of the Christian church in a relatively unbiased setting although the information is not as detailed as one might like. Be advised however, you will read from secular sources there that the Christian Church has been Catholic from very early on…

To get me to consider converting to the SDA, or any brand of Protestantism you must first convince me that 1) The Catholic Church is not the same church that Jesus established in the book of Mathew, or 2) The Catholic Church lost that mandate at some specific period in time. I need hard evidence of either condition, because I have hard (documented )evidence that Jesus gave that mandate to St Peter, and that his descendants (apostolic succession) posses that authority today. No evidence exists as far as I know that shows that authority was removed, or negated by Jesus. …What do you say about those 2 specific conditions?

Let’s reformulate that statement, thus: “Brother2 is very happy to quote his sources of evidence from the Internet, 3 ABN, the Hope Channel and the Great Controversy, and very quick to display his interpretation of Bible texts, yet being very reluctant at listening to other sources of evidence and Bible interpretation.”
