Who is “Erin and Guinness”? 🙂
The shamrock is a symbol of Ireland (‘Eire’) - ‘Erin’ is a romantic name for Ireland as in “Éirinn go brách” (‘Ireland for ever’). Guinness is a drink much favored by the Irish (not just the Irish!) and, again, a kind of symbol of Ireland.

Thanks for explaining :), I think I like it because of the Trinity only.

I’m no expert (not being Irish or Christian) but I think the reason that the shamrock (native to Ireland) became a symbol is because the ‘Patron Saint’ of Ireland, Patrick, used it as a means of explaining the idea of the Trinity when converting the pagan inhabitants of Ireland.

That is good, then maybe we will find a lot of it in Paradise. :shamrock2:

These are some signs which Mohammad(SAW) stated 1400 years back.These would be the signs that point that the time is nearing for the world to end.

Women will be wearing clothes but not wearing clothes

-Adultery will become widespread, and the drinking of wine will become common;

Earthquakes will increase;
  • Time will pass quickly;
-Killing will increase;

Very tall buildings will be built;

-The disappearance of knowledge and the appearance of ignorance, with much killing;

-Camels will no longer be used as a means of transport;

The distance on earth will become short etc etc

These are hilarious! :rotfl::rotfl:And the nonsense continues! 😃

The one bolded certainly applies to Islam!

When the Messiah would come

"In a class by itself is the prophecy found in Daniel 9, which appears to predict that the Messiah will appear about A.D. 26 precisely the date that many scholars give for Jesus’ baptism. . . (Daniel 9:24-27)

Seventy weeks are shortened upon thy people and upon they holy city, that transgression may be finished, and sins may have an end, and iniquity may be abolished; and everlasting justice may be brought; and vision and prophecy may be fulfilled, and the saint of saints may be anointed. Know thou therefore, and take notice, that from the going forth of the word to build up Jerusalem again, unto Christ, the prince, there shall be seven weeks, and sixty-two weeks . . . And after sixty-two weeks Christ shall be slain: and the people that shall deny him shall not be his. And a people with their leader that shall come, shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be waste, and after the end of the war the appointed desolation. And he shall confirm the covenant with many, in one week: and in the half week the victim and the sacrifice shall fail: and there shall be in the temple the abomination of desolation: and the desolation shall continue even to the consummation, and to the end.

“A few keys are necessary to decipher this passage. The hebrew for “week” is the same word for “seven”, and a day represents one year; hence “seven weeks” is 49 years, “sixty-two weeks” is 434 years, and “seventy weeks” is 490 years. The “going forth of the word to restore and build Jerusalem refers to the order of King Artaxerxes to rebuild Jerusalem recorded in Ezra 7: 11-26, which was given in 458 B.C. It took exactly “seven weeks”, or 49 years, to complete the building of the walls of Jerusalem, indicated by the fact that 49 years after Artaxerxes’ decree, or in 409 B.C. Nehemiah ended his appointment as governor of Judah. Adding another sixty-two weeks, or 434 years, brings us to A.D. 26, which is the year which many, including the ancient Church historian Bishop Eusebius, give as the date of Jesus’ baptism in the Jordan and the beginning of His public ministry. Then, in the “half of the week” - that is, three and half years later- “the victim and the sacrifice shall fail”. And it was about three years and four months after Jesus’ baptism that He was crucified, at which time the Temple veil was rent in two as a sign that the Temple sacrifices would henceforth fail. (The fact that the Temple sacrifices failed at the time of the crucifixion is further confirmed in a passage in the Talmud in Rosh Hashanah 31b - which will be discussed later) Then within a generation, the Romans came and destroyed the Temple and the entire city of Jerusalem and sent the Jews into exile, fulfilling the verse " a people with their leader that shall come, shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be waste, and after the end of the war the appointed desolation”.”

To be continued . . .

All the above was taken from Roy Shoeman’s “Salvation is From the Jews”.

Women will be wearing clothes but not wearing clothes

Like the women in Africa, South America, and North America 1400 years ago?

-Adultery will become widespread, and the drinking of wine will become common;

Adultery has always been a problem, especially if you count the concubines that were so common then. Drinking wine common? Drinking alcohol is less common now (at least in the US) than it was when the country was founded. You would be surprised how much alcohol the average American drank then.

Earthquakes will increase;

Have they? Really? How long have we been keeping good records of that?
  • Time will pass quickly;
As we get older, time does seem to pass quickly, but as far as I know, 24 hours is still 24 hours. Time hasn’t speeded up.

-Killing will increase;

On 9/11 in New York, at the Pentagon, and in the field it most certainly did.

Very tall buildings will be built;

Very tall depends on what you consider very tall.

-The disappearance of knowledge and the appearance of ignorance, with much killing;

I think more murderers are ignorant of the truth of universal human value. That hasn’t changed a bit.

-Camels will no longer be used as a means of transport;

As far as I know, some people still use camels to get from here to there. Not as common, I suppose. 😉

The distance on earth will become short etc etc

A mile is still a mile. We can travel that mile faster than we could before,the but distance is still the same.

He didn’t predict space travel? Computers? Cell phones? TV? The airplanes that were used to murder thousands?

The prophecy about women is rather that they will be clothed, but naked. There are a variety of interpretations to that, actually. Some say it’s the tight clothes popular nowadays, that a woman is wearing clothes but the shape of her body is clearly visible–i.e., clothed, but naked. Swimwear and the like might also fall into that category–society considers it clothing of sorts but really the woman is naked.

About time passing quicker, it’s not a matter of age. American society is really focused on time–seems kind of clear that time passes faster, whether you take it literally or metaphorically.

As population has increased, so has killing. Alcohol and adultery–could it be possible this means among Muslims? Hm. About distance becoming shorter–nearly the same as time. I can travel 20 miles to work nowadays, and back, in a single day. But do you think that’s something that would have been feasible if you lived in the desert and rode a horse or a camel? And speaking of camels, do you think that if you went to visit the desert, you would ride a camel? Or would you take some sort of off-road vehicle?

And interestingly enough, there is a prediction about airplanes though it wasn’t listed here and I’m not sure of a reference off-hand.

And there’s a prediction about barefoot poor desert arabs competing to build tall buildings. Not just people building tall buildings, or buildings being “very tall”, but that barefoot, poor, desert arabs would be competing in it. Look at Dubai.

And I still don’t see what’s funny about that.

The Native Americans wore clothing, but were “naked” by European standards. European women used to wear a garment that left one breast exposed! Talk about clothed but naked. 😉 Tight clothing. What about the corsets of the wealthy in western society? They had their waists cinched in tight and the breasts lifted and half exposed–and dusted with powder, of course. lol There are people living today who walk around wearing nothing but a string belt.

Only because we’re older. Kids on American still think that a week is too long to wait–it’s forever.🙂

I would try a ride on a camel. I’m sure there’s some tourist trap that would take my money.

When people didn’t ride camels, distance was ever farther, by this thinking. So distance was already shorter by Muhammeds time than it was millenia before. A mile is still a mile.

Nostradamus (sp?) is funny, too. 🙂

Can you post the EXACT quotes from Mohammad? I’m curious how much of this Big Mo actually predicted and to what degree his followers are reading ideas into it.

Stop! Just stop! Right now! Does not the Lord, God, Allah, or whatever you want to call Him want us to live in peace?

I am a Catholic. Plain and simple. The Church has given me salvation in the worst times of my life and has always comforted me. It truly is the greatest.

I am a Muslim but not in the way that I am Catholic. I am a true, pure Catholic, but I believe in Islam and I have read the Holy Koran and think it is a masterpiece and that Mohammed was a good man by nature.

The Lord, our God, our Allah, commands us to stop with this bickering and stop and instead fall upon our knees and worship Him and to pray to Him. Don’t you realize that this is the kind of stuff that causes religious tension and stops communication between two of the world’s greatest religions?
