First, they don’t distinguish between venial and mortal sin. In their view all sin seperates man from God.

Secondly they believe they have to repent. The elect will be given the grace required so that they can repent or they wouldn’t be elect in the first place.
Yes, but I have been educated by my Reformed brethren that this does NOT mean “repent from sin”. In fact, I am told that the Scripture no where indicates that we must repent from sin in order to be saved. The repentance is from faithlessness, to faith, that is all.

You may very well be right. One of the things that has happened since I converted is that I sometimes start putting Catholic theology into Reformed theology and this may be one those times.

In fact, as I think about it more as I type this response I will say that you are right. In Reformed theology justification is a one time event and wouldn’t be dependent on a future act such as repentance but I am going to have to dig up my old theology books to re-learn the Reformed view.
