Jesus founded One Church. Just because there exists a Church that has apostolic succession and valid sacraments does not mean that He founded two Churches or that the One Church split; if so, then we cannot confess the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church; it would read two instead of ‘One’.

In one of my previous posts on this thread i have explained my view on the matter quite succinctly. Feel free to scroll up and read it

Do you guys recite the Nicene Creed at Mass?

Do you not confess that you believe in the One Church? Or, do you really mean two?

Once again, the Catholic and Orthodox churches split from the SAME church
That is a non-sequitur. The Catholic Church has not split from Herself, She has always been One. Where are you getting your information?

The Catholic Church could not split from itself because it did not exist before the Schism. Neither did Orthodoxy. What existed was the Christian Church.

And where are you getting this from?! This is the last time I will ask.

The way i see it, you are being schismatic yourself, if you believe Christianity had been Catholic since the beginning…

There are Catholics on this thread who believe that Jesus did not found the Catholic Church, but a ‘Christian’ Church that split into the Catholic and Orthodox Churches?! I am baffled!!!

That is absolutely not what we said we believe. You have grossly misinterpreted what we said. You have made it seem as if the Christian Church, the church Christ founded, is a third party that ceased to exist after the Great Schism, when in reality it just split along its western and eastern lines.

No, Orthodox split from THE Catholic Church. The Catholic church remained intact.

If I have a big rock, and piece breaks off, it is now its own rock. But the rock that was there originally is still the original rock.

Are you saying that the Christian Church was called the Catholic Church even before the Great Schism? 🤔
The big rock in your analogy is supposed to be Early Christianity, not Catholicism. That big rock split in two.
