What does the Church say about magic?
Just about what any Christian church would say about it, it is wrong! What does the Church say about magic?
Good clarification:thumbsup:It depends upon what you mean by magic.
The Catechism is discussing the occult arts, which are a grave offense against God.
If by magic you mean illusions, performing “magic tricks,” there is nothing wrong with that.
Depends on what you mean by “magic” If yor talking about a Las Vegas act, no problem. If your speaking of socersy or Satan related acts; it is Greviously sinful.=Wesley7;6719427]What does the Church say about magic?
If you’re a practising witch, even a so-called white witch, you’d know, or should know, that the spiritual world is quite real. You wouldn’t be doing it otherwise. This is a pretty basic question. I’m an apostate and practicing witch, but I still know enough apologetics to know the church is definitely “agin” it!![]()
Gradpa used to say * that one is far more likely to find trouble when ones looks for it. have you figured that out yet:shrug:=kenofken;6722635]This is a pretty basic question. I’m an apostate and practicing witch, but I still know enough apologetics to know the church is definitely “agin” it!![]()

I know that fact well. It’s brought me a wonderful wife and friends for which I would not trade Warren Buffett’s money.*
I’m not at all impressed with you being a whitch: satan contolas a whole lot of souls; your just one of many; and unless you chnge, you’ll have a very long tome to thonk about what you could have and should have been
**I don’t seek to impress anyone, including other pagans. I certainly don’t expect the warm and fuzzies from this crowd, but like me or not, I will never BS you or anyone else on here, either about myself or the Catholic faith as I know it from 12 years of schooling in it. If the original poster was really in question about magic (magick as we say), he should hear the straight dope both from Catholics AND the people who know it from the inside.
There’s a lot of people who think it’s perfectly cool to be a Christian/Catholic Pagan, and plenty of booksellers and covens who will indulge that falsehood. For very different reasons, I share Rome’s belief that that just ain’t so. If people, young people in particular, have a heart and soul that belongs in Catholicism and they’re just curious or having a rough patch with authority I DON’T want them, and they may accept the truth if they hear it from both sides of the fence…
