What do you think he Jesus means when he says “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” And why does this scripture say that the disciples worshipped Christ?

Perhaps then you will not begrudge Christianity two sources: Scripture and Tradition? (And, in fact, Tradition precedes the Christian Scripture)

I have showed you where in the Quran prayer is, while you failed to show me where in the bible the Trinity is

Where is it the word Trinity
 
The word Trinity is a summary of what the Catholic Church believes our Lord meant when he talks about “baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” Catholic are not Fundamentalists. We also have a teaching authority that has the right and duty to explain to Catholic believers what is contained in the Bible. In this case, the teaching authority adopted the word Trinity to explain the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We also have the tradition of the Church Fathers to rely on.

Jesus said these words to make The Trinity for us. We believe this to be true and authentic.

No one could ever make up The Trinity. It doesn’t happen like that.

Neither is the word “God” because the Bible wasn’t written in English. In fact, for much of the first century, the writings of the New Testament were not yet written and yet there was a thriving Christian community that had embraced the teachings of Christ, including the Trinity. As a previous poster pointed out, the Catholic faith is not based on the Bible, it is based on Jesus and His teachings passed on to us in sacred Scripture AND sacred Tradition, which includes an understanding of the Triune God.

Perhaps I misunderstand – I thought you showed where in the hadith prayer is? (Or rather: You stated that the method of prayer is in the hadith. You provided no kind of chapter&verse, page reference, quotation, et cetera that might have shown “where” in Quran nor hadith anything is)

Tawheed is the Shema you read in the Bible : "Hear, Oh Israel, the Lord your God is One.

the Trinity explains the essence of God, not His number . As others said, the word Trinity does not exist in the Bible, but the concept does. In order to understand the concept, it had to be explained using a term, hence we got the word Trinity.

You do find the word “Christians” but you do not find the word “Christianity” in the Bible because Christianity was considered a Judaic “sect” and not a “new” religion. We were called Christians by others because we follow Christ, as opposed to other Jews who do not consider Jesus the Christ.
 
light, you never answered my question. If the quran doesn’t say how to do salat then how can you say it is commanded? It is the same idea, not everything is found in the quran. Therefore, the quran is incomplete.

On a deeper note, I think this demonstrates clearly the Muslim preoccupation with words. The faith based on a “discourse in Arabic” is tied to the words of the book irrevocably and in many senses is an over simplification of the Christian belief.

Why would God send a discourse in Arabic? A re-writing of previous messages failed? Is it not exclusive and divisive by its nature?
 
Ok, the word “Trinity” is not in the bible. That doesn’t mean that it does not exist. The idea, the concept IS there and many versus have been given you to prove the concept. The word “Trinity” in and of itself is not that important other than a word used to identify a belief. The fact that the word is not in the bible does not mean that the belief itself does not exist. Many children are born before being given a name, in some cases a name is not given until days after the birth. Does this mean that the child did not exist because it was not given a name and recorded somewhere? Of course not. The name Trinity was assigned to identify a concept that is in the bible. Not a big deal.
 
The word Jerusalem is found nowhere in the Koran… but it still exists and is very real…

Catholics profess Sola Dei Verbum… only the Word of God.

And Catholics find that Truth in the early Church - Traditions

in the scriptures… The Bible

and in the teaching Authority of the Church … The Magisterium.

To think that a teaching must appear in the bible as you wish it to appear is the problem of those outside the Church.

And to put limits on God is outside sensibility.

If you are concerned about words not appearing in the Bible I have one more for you to be concerned with.

Bible.

Not in the Bible.

Better jettison the Bible now.

Sure, epistle- scripture- and other words are used. But NO WHERE is a LIST of what those scriptures are in THE BIBLE. No list of canon.

Thats just one more thing. There is more of course. We got more than a book. We believe in the WORD. The Bread of Life who surpasses any book.
A living WAY TRUTH LIFE.

Your unspoken assumption is that the bible is the foundation of Christianity and Christian truth. That is false. The foundation of Christianity and Christian truth is the Catholic Church founded by Christ, and the Church teaches as clearly as can be taught what has been revealed to it by God, and part of that divine revelation is that God is Triune.

Your point is a strong one against Protestantism, which claims to derive its doctrines from scripture alone (it doesn’t, really, and the Trinity is one example). But your point is no point at all against the Church.
