Question for DWs on TV

I’m not a jealous type, so it wouldn’t have bothered me, personally, except to say it’s not a show that will benefit a man’s soul. Maybe a man’s eyes…not his soul.

I don’t think a woman should appear outraged though over her husband watching it…it should be something that is discussed though–just don’t throw a fit. A jealous woman makes for an unhealthy marriage.

Bothered me, no - I’d have fallen over in the floor laughing. DH is very picky about TV and loathes everything on network television. On the rare occasions I watch anything on the Big Three networks, he will go outside and read.

We curled up on the sofa and watched The Elephant Man on AMC.

You mean the Elephant Man was on and I MISSED it???

No I wouldn’t care about DH watching it, but it’s easy for me to say, as DH probably wouldn’t watch something like that. He finds the whole supermodel look kinda gross…and he finds television such as a lengerie fashion show as brain-cell-diminishing.

He would have watched the Elephant Man though!

Would it bother me if he sought it out? Yes.

But I know him well enough to know that he wouldn’t, even if we did have TV (yes, we have A tv, but for watching movies and tv series already on dvd). In fact, when I watch shows with immodestly dressed women (ie. Dancing with the Stars), he goes off and reads a book or plays video games on his computer. And when we see a billboard or something else with immodestly dressed women, he always tells me that the only woman he wants to see that way is me .

aw, that is so nice! I don’t think that it’s impossible for men to control themselves. My husband used to look at attractive women walking by, but he would turn to me and say…‘yep, you’re the prettiest woman here. Just checkin.’ Not sure if that was always the case…lol…but it was nice that he said that.

I think that Deal or No Deal is such a great family show…but why do the girls have to dress that way? I mean, kids are watching, you know? Must every show have to display a woman’s cleavage…it makes me wonder how far women have come in Hollywood’s eyes.

Would it bother you if your DH watched the VS Fashion Show that was on CBS last night?

yes it would bother me, but he could care less so no worries here. cbs comes in real fuzzy anyway and we only adjust it for football

In the end, I am his wife, not those women.

DH and I also watch it together every year. We think it’s funny. He doesn’t find the women hot at all - thinks they’re too skinny with “weird faces”. I think I’m more attracted to the models than he is (I have mild SSA, and find the female form, in all its shapes, God’s most marvelous creation - could study it forever).

If we’re sinning watching it, it’s when I comment that I think a girl is cute/pretty, and DH will get his interest momentarily piqued and then go back to reading his book.

If I was married, I would be very disturbed if my DH watched a VS fashion show–My dad always switches the channel when Dancing with the Stars are on, and I can only imagine his reaction if a VS fashion show was on… He has always taught me and my sisters to dress modestly “You don’t know what guys are thinking,” so I try my best to dress modestly, and I would never watch a VS show myself…

Speaking of Dancing with the Stars – my goodness gracious did you guys see Jane Seymour’s body? GOODNIGHT! I hope I look THAT good when I am in my 50’s! I think it’s mostly genetics – and A LOT of hard work, but WOWSER! Her little dancing dress was certainly skimpy, and it certainly enhanced her best attributes, in this case her whole body, but dancing is a bit of a different subject for me, as far as costuming goes. i.e. there is a HUGE difference between costuming to look good WHILE dancing – and wearing even less just to look skimpy in a lingerie show…at least the dancers are actually doing something!

Yeah sorry, not meant to hijack, I am just still in AWE over that lady’s body. In her fifties, has had TWINS, and just WOWSER.

No my DH wasn’t watching…LOL

Yeah, it bothers me with Deal or No Deal. I guess that is one show that DH and I watch with immodestly dressed women, but I guess we get so wrapped up in the stupid decisions the contestants are making and criticizing what their family members are telling them to do that we both failed to see and/or mention that.

I admit that I watched parts of it with my DW. The outfits are so outrageous that in my opinion it was in no way sexy. I have a much bigger problem with the way women are dressed at the mall then I did with that show. It was laughable.

While neither of us have interest in watching it, if he wanted to, I’d probably watch with him. But no, it wouldn’t bother me that he’s watching it - I know where he lays his head at night.
