Your dh cut your hair? Is he any good? 😃
:rotfl:

My mom is a professional hairstylist, and has cut my hair a million times, so I helped him out, with a few little tricks. 😉 I didn’t let him put layers in it, I just had him cut it straight across the back, with slight tapering at the sides, to round it out a bit. He finds dull scissors a bit difficult to use (the only kind we have 😛 ), and much prefers his electric beard/mustache trimmer. I know that sounds really funny, but he gets a straighter line with the trimmer. It helps that he’s very detail-oriented.

Oh, and he cut our daughter’s hair, too, this past weekend, and she’s a squirmy toddler. I pointed out to him yesterday, how something that he inadvertently did made her hair cuter. My mom trims my sister’s hair while my sis is looking down at the floor, which makes the top layer a bit longer and the bottom layer a bit shorter, so that the hair “curls” under ever so slightly. Well, as my husband was cutting our daughter’s hair, she was looking down at her feet, so now her hair curls under. He was all proud of himself. 😃 Not bad, for a pilot-turned-engineer.
Funny, how things change. I doubt any of us would hesitate to let our girls wear their hair up.🤷
That is funny! My husband and I think our little girl looks absolutely adorable in ponytails, but she doesn’t tolerate anything in her hair. Kind of a bummer. I do draw the line at shoes with heels or platforms for my little girl, though. 😉

Sorry for being sooo far off topic. 😊 I’ll stop now… Back to the thread…

I like both, but there is something about the hair pinned up. I have never cared much for a pony tail, but french braids and twist are beautiful and can accentuate the neck.

down. Some can pull it off putting it up, and granted it looks good, but I like it much better down. Some women can pull off short hair nicely, & other guys are being poilte when asked how do you like my haircut? We can change out of a bad outfit that drives her nuts faster than a bad hairstyle takes to grow back, lol. Then they say, well I like it. Which is good. It doesnt change my opinion of her to begin with, just the way her hair looks, lol. That leaves room for jokes & bringing home costume wigs as a gag…LOL!

Whatever way my wife wants to wear it. us married guys know the quickest way to trouble is to get in a discussion with your wife abour her hair.

  1. don’t cut it:eek:
  2. up or down is situation/ outfit dependent. hair up with an elegant gown is nice, pony tails whendoing sports, recreation, and down with casual attire.
  3. no curlers in bed.
  4. no curlers when leaving the house.
  5. no curlers when we have company.
    anything else is fair game.👍

In light of other discussions of people’s appearances, I have a question that is mainly geared towards guys. Do you prefer a girl to wear her hair up (meaning in a ponytail etc) or down? and why?
Both, actually. Which one is prettier on a given girl depends on many factors and variety isn’t bad, either.

Either or. When I met my wife it was relatively short (we were in the Air Force). Then she let it grow to the middle of her back, with bangs. Now the bangs are gone and it’s just below her shoulders. She’s cute anyway :o

My fiance prefers it long, and down. I prefer it up, personally. I like wearing it twisted up and held with a clip (most days) or braided.

Definetly down. I’ve seen so many girls blessed with nice hair that looks nice down.

My fiancé is a big fan of my hair when it’s down and straightened because then he gets to run his fingers through it and play with it. 😉

We’re in college so for class I usually toss it up into a ponytail or a messy bun to keep it out of my face while taking notes, so he sees my hair like that all the time, so when it’s down and straight and pretty, it’s a nice change. Usually I only do it for special occasions. 🙂

Ok I’m not a guy, but I will answer for my honey because he tells me this on a countless daily basis, “wear your hair down, you look much more beautiful with it down!”

lol

I was going to say I prefer it 35-10 but didn’t think anyone would get it.

To the op…just curious if the opinions you get here would cause you to change your hairstyle. I can’t imagine ever cutting my hair short. I wear it down most days, up when it is hot. I know I have the tendency to want to please, but for some reason if I was married and my husband wanted my hair cut short, I don’t think I would be able to do it. I just wouldn’t feel like me.

Hello!
No, this thread would not get me to change my hairstyle…I was just curious to whether guys like girls’ hair up or down… I’ve had my hair both medium and short, but now I’m letting it grow…My hair is currently layered and the longest layer comes to about 3 inches below my shoulder and my shortest layer comes just below my jaw …when I let my hair be longer, I typically put it back in a ponytail so it stays out of my face and doesn’t get caught on my backpack… (my backpack is really heavy so I don’t let it hang from just one shoulder) 🙂

People always like my hair down…but I know I have a habit of twisting it up in the morning to get it out of my way…🤷

I prefer hairdos that leave the ears of the woman uncovered. It gives me the impression that they are available to listen to what I have to say.
I love this insight!

Incidentally, my husband prefers my hair long and down. We live in central Florida, so I did cut my hair short when we moved here, but now that I have Bean, I’m letting it grow longer so I can pull it back during the day. (And it’ll still be off my neck for the heat factor.)

On a side note, it’s interesting to me that I found this thread today because I’m working on making some changes in my life. One of them is to make changes to be more feminine in my appearance. Since I’m getting new clothes for my post-baby body, I’m dressing more modestly. My hair is another thing I’m changing.

Of course, this is something I’m doing for myself. I know that each woman is different. (I don’t want anyone to think I’m judging you if you, say, have short hair or wear sleeveless shirts or anything like that.)

My husband likes my hair long so he can play with it. Or short, so he can play with it (and because he thinks its really cute). He basically loves it anyway as long as its not in my face - he hates when women wear their hair in their faces, which I guess I can understand. As long as I don’t ruin my natural colour I’m pretty much free to play. 🙂 Right now he’s encouraging me to get dreads 🤷

If I were a woman instead, I’d probably try something new rather often. I’d probably fall in love with my haircuts and keep contenting myself with them, thinking I were too good for a man to claim it his own! Errr… scratch the last part.
