If Jesus is not the Messiah, then why hasn’t God sent any more prophets?

It’s been how many centuries now?!

(I don’t wish to sound rude- I am just curious as to what you would say.)
 
Might as well ask why God didn’t send any prophets after Malachi (centuries before Jesus).
