Glory to Jesus Christ!
I recall hearing that there are Jews in Israel that believe a rebuilding of the Temple will usher in the End of Days. Of course there is the problem with a Muslims having a mosque on the existing site. However, if the Temple were to be rebuilt, how would the Temple priesthood be restored? From what I understood, the Jewish priesthood was an unbroken line that was lost with the destruction of the last Temple in A.D. 70. I also know that the only sect of Judaism to survive the destruction were the Pharisees.
For the Jews in existence today, would it even matter theologically if the Temple were to be rebuilt or would it just be convenient?
In Christ,
Andrew
