question for LDS

As I understand it, you believe in a progression of gods. How do you know you can trust the god you worship or believe in to be powerful enough to do whatever he promises? could he not rebell against the council of gods and as such not have their support? What if the god who made him changes the rules, and since your god is not as powerful or old as the god that made him, and can not enforce his own will, promises, are you then left out in the cold so to speak? 😦

I’ll add to your question. Since God is subject to laws of nature he didn’t create, but exist independently of Him, how sure can we be that he really can control what happens to Him and his organization? Isn’t it possible that the independent natural world that allows Him to exist could come and destroy Him?
