Wearing a burqa will identify you as a **muslim ** practicing under the religion of islam and not as a Catholic woman.

actually, i see women dressed this way every day, and there is very little difference between what they wear, and a nuns habit…she could be mistaken for a nun, especially if she is a westerner Peace

Mate, that happened over 1000 years ago, when marriages like this was allowed. In those days, girls were married at 13, as it was their best chance to survive child birth I am sure our dearest Mother, was not very old herself when she gave birth to the Lord. It was the norm back then and head covering and modest wear stems from Abrahamic religions, such as Judaism, Christianity and Islam…and would have been adopted from Judaism, as that is the likely source us Christians’ get it from, and also from our Mother.

Its a significantly large percentage of the Muslim population unfortunately. Especially in places like Saudi Arabia.

no, it is a low percentage. 10 percent who want to kill all non muslims, unfortunatley that translates into a huge number. the other 90 percent need to face their fears and say no to what the extremist are doing.

Yes, this is true. I’ve heard her age to be estimated anywhere from 13-17 at that time. I guess it to be around 14-15, personally.

Based on the cultural practices of the time, “a young woman of marriageable age” is a girl from 13-17 years old; of course, that is how Mary is described in the Bible.

So true so true.

I have seen African women wear head-scarf’s and not in the traditional Muslim style, but I know they are in fact Muslim (as I have done research on “Islamophobia” for my Uni History subject). The style is actually a very ““modern”” style, where the scarf covers the whole head and is wrapped around their hair which is up in a bun.

If one didn’t know, they would not be thought to be Muslim.

That’s historical too, many young women in their mid teens where married. It was so they would be fit and healthy enough to handle childbirth.
