I cannot deny that the number of Muslims in the world far outshadows those who are participating in the violence. But this is normally true for any cause. The activists always get the attention but they usually have deeper support than just themselves. Look at the “occupy” movement. How many participate(d) in that? Then take into consideration those who support what they are doing. Many, many more. I believe the hatred for Amercia runs deeper than just those on the streets. I certainly do not condemn all Muslims and believe that most are just people who want to live their lives just as the rest of us do. It would sure be nice to hear a little more condemnation from the Muslim community, especially in our own country where they have freedom of speech and religion, the very things they deny to others in the countries they control.
Why so much fear and hate in your heart? Certianly not christian indeed. The arguments you have been making are identical to the same arguments made against Catholicism. If Islam is so dangerous and such a threat why are not all 1.5 BILLION in the streets (that’s is 1/4 the population of the world by the way). My doctor is Egyptian and Muslim he is horrified at what is happening and angry that the US is not doing anything to stop this, hmmmm must be a bad muslim for not supporting a bunch of radical fools.

I agree. I think we ,as americans, forget that the whole world does not think like we do. Many of these countries don’t get taught real history and science. My husband, who is muslim, never read a history or biology book until he went to college in his 30’s in the US. I had to prove to him thatWWII did happen and killed so many people.

You talk of sharia but most muslims do not want this. I am currious to know how many muslims you know to base your beliefs upon (beyond just suras taken out of context etc) I taught english in Jordan and Bahrain for a number of years. I have numerous Muslim friends here and abroad. Our Cathederal in Whitehorse has lent space to the muslim community while they raise money to build their own mosque and they come and help out at the soup kitchen we run and the winter clothing drive for the homeless. None of them want Sharia law here or anywhere in the world.
