It really is a small minority of Muslims that are acting out. But Christians had problems with the movie, “The Last Temptation of Christ” and fire bombed movie theaters and threatened movie goers. So it is not unknown for Christians to act this way also.

We don’t accuse David for his behavior because he eventually repented. The book of Psalms reveal how badly he felt for insulting his and our most gracious God, forgiving and slow to anger. Namely - aren’t we all confusing each others situations?
The type of religious toleration your talking about came in no small part due to the wars of religion that Christianity had to undergo since the Protestant Reformation. Your spiritual ancestors if you will, had to go through a few hundred years of warfare till they realized “Oh…maybe this isn’t exactly going to work out the way we thought it would…better try something else.”
And that was just only between certain Protestant groups. How often have you Catholics been dealt the Persecution card from the Protestant sects (all the way to electing JFK no less!!)? How often have Catholics and Protestants been serving that up to those of the Jewish faith?
The point i’m trying to make is that your religions all developed a long a specific historical trajectory along with what amounts to changes in your civilizations political system.
ie: What it means to be a citizen. What rights does a citizen have. etc. etc.
Our collective experience, although shared by some Muslims, isn’t the same trajectory that the Middle East and Islam have developed on.
Throw on top of this the fact that the whole region has been a victim of power politics for more than a century and really doesn’t have much hope of pulling itself out of the spiral its currently in…

There was also a counter-demonstration within Libya a day after the death of Chris Stevens against the use of violence and his death.
And you can find many more condemnations of the event in the news - just google around - i’ve even come up with some French and German ones with the imams and the local communities in those countries soundly condemning what has occurred.
Although, sadly i think its pointless.
Showing their disdain for what has occurred will not stop those who committed such acts from doing them again.
Nor will it alleviate the suspicions of those in the West.

Jesus is God or Allah as you call God. Mohamed is not. Nor do I consider him a prophet of God. He may have had visions but that does mean they were from God.
And when I look around the world I do not see love from Islam. Perhaps those Muslims who do not follow the fundamentalist beliefs are more what I can understand but the ones I see who hate and kill? How can that be from God?
