I have a question for priests.
What is it like to say mass?
I’m a 27 year old man, and for the past two years I have been attending daily mass. I’ve become fascinated with every aspect of both forms. They way the mass flows from prayers of repentance, petition, and praise. I attend mass regularly in both forms (EF on Sunday and Tuesday night, and OF Monday - Saturday). I’ve read so many books on the subject, but of course I can’t get an idea of what it is actually like to say mass.
What are the emotions? Are you ever overwhelmed by God during during the process? Do you feel yourself or do you feel the mark on your soul come alive?
Likewise what is it like to hear confession? I don’t mean to hear everybody’s secrets, but what is it like to absolve sins?
Thank you!
