The Mass sounds like it was awesome. That priest… what a guy!
Tell me about it! Even asking for the Low Mass was going out of his way. He only celebrates the EF on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (Oct 7th was a Friday). And to top it off he was probably the best confessor I’ve ever had (he sat through Saint Francis de Sales’s act of contrition for the general confession!).
First time I’ve been absolved in Latin as well.
I read True Devotion once at my normal way too fast speed and am almost through it a second time, this time at a much slower pace, more suited to the style of writing that it is.
I think I’ve read it about 3 times all the way through and 5-6 times altogether though incomplete. You really can’t just take one read through with it. You need to revisit it time and time again.

If you find time, expounding on this sort of thing more, namely “By beseeching Our Lady to lend us her heart when we talk with Jesus” as you have said, would be wonderful.
I’m actually finding it hard to put it into words. It’s sort of something you just come to. It’s just like… adopting Our Lady’s dispositions towards her son, her love etc. I’m a very visual person (in my head!) so I open with a short prayer such as “my Lady be with me as I approach Our Lord” or “my Queen lend me your heart”, I imagine Our Lady taking me by the hand to her Son and “talking” with Our Lord in the spirit of Our Lady, in humility, faithfulness and charity.
It’s like… an atmosphere of prayer. If that makes sense

I’m in preparation now for Dec 8 and hope to go to the Cistercian Monastary of the Holy Spirit here in Georgia on that day. One of the Brother’s there is somehow involved in one of the marian confraternaties - the details are sketchy but a certain Francician priest advised me to go there and seek out this Brother specifically for this purpose.
I’ll keep you in my prayers as you prepare to make your Consecration. What method will you be following by the way? When I contacted the Archconfraternity of Mary, Queen of All Heart’s in Britain I was given a great little booklet by them. It wasn’t exactly like the method outlined by Saint Louis in the True Devotion (it had 4 weeks instead of 12 days and 3 weeks) but it’s still perfectly acceptable (though I wasn’t a big fan of the prayers in the booklet, I mean the litanies etc). It’s well worth using though. I started with the method on line at the Fish Eaters website and then swapped over in the last two weeks.
And don’t forget to contact the Archconfraternity yourself!
It’s also good that you’re seeking out someone to speak with. There is a Montfort Father close to me and I considered getting in touch with him but my friend didn’t get me his number so I couldn’t

Of course. I was exactly the same (though I never asked anyone, more fool me). After a while I just sort of… relaxed. Like I said, it’s really a general atmosphere in your prayer life and soul.
