Question From a Protestant

Lastly, as I do have a job to do, lol. I’m curious as to the obvious resistance to the material aspects of things. For example, why even use water in baptism? Why did Jesus, the almight God even use dirt to cure the Blind Man? Why did Jesus use Bread and Wine to become his body and blood? (whether you believe in Transubstination or not).

Why? Hopefully that causes you food for thought, and maybe open you up to accepting that the physical material things are as much part of the spiritual reality the sacraments convey.

If anyone is interested in discussing the sacrament of baptism, please post a reply at the “Why Baptism?” discussion thread. If anyone is interested in just telling me about yourself or asking me about myself, please post a reply at the “Please Tell Me” discussion thread. If you have no interest in associating with a Protestant, please read Jesus’ parables:

Oddly enough, the parable of the Prodical Son was todays Gospel reading. I do believe that the Holy Spirit is working within you. Keep Praying.

Thanks everyone! On the whole, you have all been extremely patient and kind to me. I feel generally welcome here. Would it be OK with all of you if i come back again soon and ask more questions? I really want to fully understand the Roman Catholicism i left long ago to see if i made the right choice.
You will not be disapointed if you objectively juxtapose your theology with Catholicism. I used to be a very anti-Catholic fundamentalist Baptist, then more of an evangelical. I juxtaposed the two theologies and found my Protesantism wanting and Catholicism’s teachings to be the truth of Scripture. But you will have to make that choice yourself through studying and prayer. Take your time, oh and one more thing…Augustine wasn’t a Protestant, he was a Catholic. 🙂 God bless.
