Question: Gift for Godparents?

Do parents typically get the Godparents a gift at baptism? If so, what is common/expected?

I remember that I gave a tie pin and a brooch to my son’s godparents on his behalf, with a wee note from him thanking them for standing for him. It’s not necessary but I thought it was a gesture I’d like to make.

No, it is not a normal gift giving occasion. At least not where we live.
