I recently defended the position that an actual infinite cannot be created by succesive addition (add one, add one, add one, etc). I was thinking and stumbled on this problem, which probably has an easy solution. I just can’t figure it out though
If one adds, say a billion, to infinity, won’t that create an actual infinite? In other words, if one adds finite quantities forever, won’t that create an actual infinite?
I’m sure there’s an easy solution to this, but it’s just not clicking for me.
Thanks,
