To start, I hope this is the right section:shrug:.
Anyhoo, my curiosity was sparked and I wanted to take a look into what the difference between excomunication and anathema was. I read this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anathema#Catholic_Church
It states, amongst other things, that the difference was eliminated in the 1917 Code of Canon Law and that the old fomula and ritual were also done away with. Does anyone have insight as to why this happened? Any thoughts?
