Good question. Adam and Eve were the representatives of the entire human race. Therefore, we share their fate. Nonetheless, God did not abandon us. Jesus Christ, True God and True Man, made reconciliation possible. Thank you, God.

We are punished for our sins; we are sinful because of Adam and Eve. When their nature became sin-stained, ours became, too, because we are descended from them.
