Question on friend leaving Catholic Church

Hello,

I have kind of a hypothetical question that hopefully somebody will answer. One of my good friends has just left the Catholic Church and become a Baptist. From what I understand he was baptized again etc. Not that I expect this to occur but what happens if he decides to come back to the Catholic Church? Would it just be ‘business as usual’ and he just starts going to Mass again??

He would need to go to confession before recieving the other sacraments. He needs to confess leaving the church. Since confession is an obligation for Catholics anyway, I don’t see this as a lofty requirement.

I agree and will add that once you are Catholic you are always Catholic even if you cease to practice Catholicism. All that needs to be done would be the sacrament of confession.
