Well I’m on the right track for this do you have to start by making it a novena explicitly or because I’ve prayed the rosary daily for like 3 weeks can I continue it?

Shalom. You need to start a new novena stating a specific intention. This novena was given by Virgin Mary to a young girl Fortuna Agrelli back in 1884 and only allows for the Joyful, Sorrowful, and Glorious mysteries.
