10 in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see Me; 11and in regard to judgement, because the prince of this world has been condemned.

I have a few questions on this: is the Prince of the world Satan? The same expression is used by Jesus in John 14, when he says that the prince of the world is coming for him, however I don’t remember the exact words.
And, by the way, why “prince”? Why is this title used?
Also, can you please also explain verse 10?
Thanks everyone 🙏

Yes

Because Satan has his way in moderation on the earth, as much as God allows…leading people into sin, souls into damnation, hurting the Sacred Heart of Jesus by leading people away from loving Him. (But this “prince” is certainly condemned eternally because we have a stronger King.)

Of righteousness, because I go to My Father: The ascension of Jesus to heaven demonstrated that He had perfectly fulfilled the Father’s will and had proven Himself righteous – and exposed the lack of righteousness in the world that rejected Him. The Holy Spirit shows the world the righteousness of Jesus and its own unrighteousness. Jesus was judged by people claiming He was demon possessed, raving mad, working with the devil, a glutton and a drunkard, etc. But His ascension proved His righteousness and the Holy Spirit leads us to know that Jesus is God and is perfect and righteous in all He does.

Of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged: The judgment of Satan himself means that there will be a final judgement between God and His rebellious creature, and Satan will be doomed forever. The Holy Spirit warns the world of this coming judgment.

Normally conviction is followed by judgment. When the Holy Spirit works, there is new hope reveled to us, the sacrifice and righteousness of Jesus Christ, which can satisfy the judgment for the convicted person.

The world, and the prince of it, is judged. The Holy Spirit warns us that to adhere to the world and it’s skewed standards and desires, and to follow the “prince” of it, rather than Christ is to cling to a doomed cause, and will end in God’s judgement.

In Greek the word is ἄρχων (archon) or ruler.
In John 18:26 Jesus says “My kingdom is not of this world”.

Thank you so much for such an exhaustive response. I just have one more question: why the Holy Spirit demonstrates Jesus’s righteousness? In which way? Hasn’t Jesus proved to be righteous himself, by doing the will of God ? Thank you!

The outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost was God’s ‘seal of approval’ on the ministry and on the sinless life and death of His Son .

why the Holy Spirit demonstrates Jesus’s righteousness?
As @Carmel said, and the Holy Spirit always draws us to Jesus and testifies to our hearts that He is who He says He is and He is God and therefore completely righteous. Yes Jesus proved His own righteousness, but the world was blind to it and condemned Him. The Holy Spirit leads us to know that He is more righteous than the world.
