John places the leaders of Israel as Jesus’ main opposition, as Matthew tends to do.

Is telling the truth anti-semitic? Does writing books about the Holocaust make one anti-German?

i only ask because a priest told me this. he said christians have used passages from the gospel to promote anti-semitism. i don’t necessarily think that makes john’s gospel anti-semitic because he is telling the truth. i think the real issue lies with the christians who used the passages as propaganda for their already established beliefs.

would you say there’s a difference between anti-semitism and anti-judaism?

Yeah. Anti-semitism hates people based on their race or religion. This is a grave sin. Anti-Judaism is the opposition to the errors of that religion–specifically the one that rejects a fundamental truth like Jesus Christ is the true Messiah. This is good–but sharing the Gospel with Jews (like with anyone else of a false religion) must always be done in charity with respect, kindness, and patience 👍
