Question on Lying in the Bible

I’m doing some research on “lying” (and derivative word forms, like “lie” or “lies”) and need to cite Scripture verses. Which source employs more accurate translation from the Greek: KJV or NAB? Please don’t guess at the answer. It’s probably helpful if you read Greek.]

The NAB often uses the word “lying” to mean “reclining.” The NAB often translates “lies” into “idols.” In the KJV version, “lying” refers to “falsehoods,” “deceit,” etc. I am researching the latter sense - “falsehoods.”

Thank you for your help. If necessary, I can provide examples. One example would be Psalms 24:4-5 (deceit vs. idol).

I searched a Greek/English Interlinear and used a Strongs concordance and this is what I came up with.

There are quite a few verses that have lying as a falsehood.

1 Kings 22:22, 2CH 18:21,22, PS 31:18, PS 109:2, PS 119:29 just to name a few. In the Strongs concordance lying is # 08267 and in Hebrew means among other things a falsehood.

I found 2 in the NT
EHP 4:25 and 2Th 2:9 In the Strongs concordance the word lying is 5579 and in the Greek means among other things falsehood.
