I was praying sext today and was wondering if I was praying it right, so I went to look at the Brev Meum App and looked at Sext for today and the psalms and antiphons were different than what I prayed? Are the offices different between the EF offices in Brev Meum App and MD offices? I haven’t noticed a difference in them before…

I’ve still not mastered the MD. Have you referred to the blog Saints Will Arise?

You can even ask a question on the Yahoo Group Benedictine Monastic Diurnal.

Great bunch of people who will help you, especially Michael LoPiccolo

I believe the Brev Meum app is the 1962 pre-Vatican II Divine Office. The Monastic Diurnal is the Monastic Divine Office and uses a completely different psalter schema. It is the Divine Office specified by St. Benedict in the 6th century (of which a post-Vatican II adaptation exists as well). The Brev Meum app uses the 1962 Roman Breviary which is the 1910 psalter schema of Pius X.

You can see the psalter schemas here:

As you can see, for the MD Sext today should have been Ps. 122-123-124 as it would be every Tuesday to Saturday. For Brev Meum, it would be Ps. 73 divided into 3 sections.

Apart from general structure of the hours, the MD and the 1962 breviaries are completely different.
